Next Monday morning, the sun shone into my room and hit my eyes. I groaned and flipped over, but five minutes later my morning alarm buzzed with all might. I grunted and turned the alarm off before anyone could argue about it. I slipped out from under the covers, sat on the edge of the bed and slid my feet into my slippers. I headed on to the bathroom and at mere sight, my hair was a mess and the bags under my eyes are as spooky as my hair.

After getting dressed I grabbed my bag and headed out. However, before being able to leave I forget to grab something to eat. On my way to the kitchen, Elizabeth is sitting by the counter with her back facing me. I silently walk over to grab an apple and turn around to leave, "Going somewhere?"

I stop erratically, and huff, "Yes, I'm already leaving is that okay?" I turn around slowly and meet her scrutinizing stare.

"No, it's fine but I do expect you to say goodbye whenever I am here." She says stiffly before resuming whatever she was doing.

Rolling my eyes I say, "Absolutely mother how can I forget, goodbye."

"Oh, and whatever happened with Bart Friday night let it be the last time. I don't know if it was you or not, but when I arrived home there was something off." She says just before I'm able to leave.

After dozing off Friday night nothing really happened, it was like any usual weekend. I woke up on Saturday morning with a slight headache and there was nobody home. As usual, I dedicated my time to reading, but on Sunday I did go to St. Thomas, nothing important. And I hadn't seen Elizabeth or Bartholomew at all.

As I step out from the elevator into the building lobby Franklin is already waiting for me by the door. "Good morning Ms. Claude, I hope you had a good weekend," he says before heading to the car outside.

"Hi to you too and yeah it was fine. What about you?" I ask descending the set of stairs.

"It was pleasant," he says opening the car door for me to enter. "Anything unusual I should know about?"

Thinking about last Friday night no one can ever know what happens between me and Bartholomew so I casually dismiss him shaking my head in denial.

Forty minutes later I am sitting through English Literature trying to focus on the lecture, but my eyes wander about every once in a while. On the other hand, everyone else was silently writing as much as they could. We had an exam next class, and this was a whole overview of it. But there were only a few minutes left of class for me to keep writing.
