Chapter 11

Kise's POV

[ Jealous? Kasamatsu senpai? Huh, these words would never fit in one sentence. I caressed her back supportively, smiling at her in hopes of easing her worries.]
"You've got nothing to worry about, Senpai isn't that kind of person. He's a great guy."
'It seems like these two are talking about us.'
"Who?"
'The show off guy that usually tries to flirt with the girls and the guy from before.' [I looked over, frowning as I noticed Moriyama senpai walking our way. There was something about Kasamatsu's smile.. that was not innocent. Moriyama waved us as he got closer, taking a seat next to her and obviously invading her personal space. She furrowed her brows and inched closer to me, looking at me with a questioning look I returned to her.]
'Kise kun, being here all alone with such a beautiful flower as this one, how unfair! I'll have you pretty lady know I'm far more successful than Kise kun here on a closer look. You see these muscles? How do you like them-'
"Moriyama senpai, what..?"
'I'm just trying to catch this beauty's attention.'
"Well you did, and she doesn't wish for more of it."
'How do you know that?'
"You have to be dense."
'Why won't you give us some time to know each other, Kise kun? In fact, why won't you get up right now?'
[We glared at each other as she sat in the middle looking absolutely terrified. I wondered why did moriyama senpai decide to come over and hit on her out of the blue? She seemed to catch his interest just like all the other girls, but he wouldn't go as far as walking over to them and so openly flirting... could it be related to the stare off she and Kasamatsu had? They had talked, as she said before, but why would he come here...? Maybe Kasamatsu senpai is really jealous?! No way, that's unlike him. It doesn't suit him at all, though I still couldn't let moriyama senpai forcibly hit of her like that. I got up to tower over him and she jumped up to stand behind me as I glared down at him.]
"Even though I'm younger than you and I have my respect for you, I'm gonna have to ask you to back off."
'Is it so, really?'
[He got up, challenging me back as he glared back. He seemed actually mad, as if I just interrupted a perfect chance of his, how ridiculous. How has it come to this? ]   

Kasamatsu's POV

[ Ah.... So my plan didn't work. Kise protects her. Noble, I gotta say, but completely uneeded. I knew for a fact that girl stood up for herself many time before. She's pretty famous in Kaijou for that. But I guess Kise wouldn't know. He's a first year. I wouldn't have sent Moriyama there if I wasn't sure she's able to retort his sloppy pick up lines. I watched the scene unravel in front of my eyes. Mess. Incoming, bullshitting mess. I have no time for this, damn. I should have just come up to her and told her to leave. Ah.... Let me at least save Moriyama, poor dude. Kise would win in a fist fight if there was a need in it, there wasn't any doubt about that. I walked up to the three of them. ]
"Kise, lay off Moriyama. It was clear as a day I told him to go bug you."
[ I huffed. Being honest isn't fun, but it's effective. ]
"You've got to understand that even if you are on the sidelines, you are still in practice. If you have nothing to do, watch and learn strategies. Your girl over here is pretty too, she distracts the rest. The Third stringers on side are already gossiping 'bout you, yeah?"
[ Yes, I will be salty and won't talk to her. I won't bother acknowledging her existence. I'm bitter, fight me. ]
"Now generally I wouldn't have done anything, but if it harms the quality of the practice, I will get involved. I'm the one scolded later for being a bad captain, after all. That being said, I don't care what you do outside of here. Considering you're injured, you can go ahead and go home and do whatever you'd like."
[ Oh, wow, I sounded really salty on that last one. Oops. whatever, it's true. ] "Ah... and the thing we need to do? I already know the way to your house, so I'll come over myself. All settled? Good. Moriyama, let's go back to practice."
[ While I spoke about what we have to do, I gave out a glare to that girl. She ain't going to ruin my rainbow freak. For at least today, I kind of want him to stay mine. ]
