I am no ordinary girl. I live in California; in Rosemont, California, and I go to Oak High School. I have lived here my whole life. It was just yesterday that I thought I was an ordinary girl! But today everything changed!

I was at school doing my normal routine. I went to first period with Mr. P, and we learned about imaginary numbers. Then I went to Mr. Hunt's class...

Going to Oak High School means you're a regular student, Health Academy student, or an IB student. I am in the Health Academy and that means that the next years when I'm a junior and a senior that I get to go and work in hospitals to get a taste of what it's like being in the healthcare industry. Being a doctor has been something that I've always wanted to do because I love helping people and making them feel better. So this is a good opportunity for me. Plus, my parents are both doctors.

... Mr. Hunt is an academy teacher. Today we decided we were going to have a "Dr. Phil" session. We watched an awesome video about success. Then it happened... My head started to hurt! I ran as fast as I could out of the room, and ran around behind the classroom (the classroom was in a portable). It was pouring rain and the grass around the classroom was more waterlogged than muddy. I fell to my knees, put my hands around my head and began screaming! I don't know when I started crying, and the only reason I knew I was because I could feel the warm drops of tears dripping down my face and seeping through the ripped part of my jeans. The rain started coming down faster and faster. Then lightning started to strike all around me as I was screaming louder! I think I was the one causing the lightning. It felt like there was some kind of energy was surging through me, and that I was going through some kind of change. I could feel the strange energy flowing through my veins, and it burned the inside of me. Then, I passed out. The next thing I know is that Mr. Hunt is kneeling next to me and on his phone calling 911, and my best friend Jay right beside him. His lips are moving but I can't tell what he's saying.

I must have passed out again because when I woke up I was in the hospital. Jay was sitting right next to my bed holding my hand. He was asleep. When I moved around a little he woke up. He's a really light sleeper. He told me that my parents were on their way. They were away at a convention in New York. He told me he was going to stay here until my parents arrived, and he did. He fell back asleep, and I lay there for a few minutes before I noticed that it was 11 o'clock at night. I was in the hospital for more than 12 hours, and was asleep for the entire time. When the doctor noticed that I was awake he came in and asked me a few questions about what had happened. I told just about everything, except for a few things. That the lightning kept striking when I was screaming, and about the energy that flowed through me. I kept these details from him because I just thought that it was too strange and that I maybe had imagined it. I know the doctor's name now; it's Dr. Andrew and he seemed to have no clue of what was wrong with me. Once he left that's when something extraordinary happened that changed my life forever!

I got really angry because I thought I was going to die since no one knew what was wrong with me. That's when the walls caught fire. What have I done? I was more afraid than angry now, and that's when the fire went out. There was no damage to the walls, and no one knew what happened except for me...

What was wrong with me?That's when a book materialized right in front of me! I was hesitant at first but I opened the book anyway. What happened when I opened that book is that I knew my life would never be the same again! I knew I wasn't an ordinary girl anymore!

Up until the moment before I got that pain in my brain I had my whole life planned. I knew that I was going to continue to get a 4.0 G.P.A. throughout high school, graduate High School, go to any college that I wanted, probably fall in love with someone while in college, marry them, graduate college, get into a good medical school, become a doctor, start a family, and live happily ever after. I don't know now.
