5. The Spell

I don't know how long I held her in my arms. Comforting her while she was crying. I felt like I was going to explode because how much I love her! I wanted to know what to say to make her feel better, but I couldn't think of anything.

"Thanks for being here for me... I don't know what I would do without you," she said sobbing.

 “I don't know what I would do without you either," I said. "So... You're... Really... A... Witch?!"

She pulled away from me and said, "Yes I am!" There was a long pause then she said, "Does that scare you, because it scares me... I have no one to show me anything! I had no clue what I was doing to you when I pinned you to the wall. It really scares me!" Then she came back into my arms wanting me to comfort her. 

I sincerely said, “No it doesn't! It doesn't scare me; I don't think that anything about you could ever scare me. You have always been my best friend and I can't think of anything that will change that! So how do you know that you were adopted?”

“My birth mother wrote me a letter that came with the spell book when I turned!” She went to the back of the book a pulled an envelope, and said, “This is the letter! Do you want to see it?”

“No. That’s something that your birth mother wrote for you, so I don’t need to see it.”

“Okeydokey.”

She was beginning to act like her old self so I asked, “Anyways, I was wondering if you could show me something... magical!"

I do want to show him a spell, but I don't think I've ever been this close to him in my whole life. He's holding me against his warm body, and I'm feeling really connected to him. I am starting to notice how lucky I am because he has to be the hottest guy I've ever seen. With his blue eyes, short curly light brown hair, and the cutest nose I have ever seen. Not only is he super-hot, but is super smart too. He plays every sport he can get his hands onto, and all while getting straight A's in school. He's never had a girlfriend which is weird because he is so popular, smart, handsome, nice, sincere, and everything that a girl would want in a guy!  I wonder why he hasn't had a girlfriend, but I guess in the back of my mind I am glad that he hasen't had one.

I cannot believe that he's okay with the magic stuff because it scared me when I first found out. I grabbed the book that was lying next to me and turned to a page. I said to him," I'm going to try a spell that I have not tried yet."

“Okay, so what's the spell?"

 I looked down at the spell and told him, “It’s a spell that freezes things!"

 “Just don't freeze me," he said laughing.

I blushed and said, “Very funny! And I won't freeze you on purpose." The spell looked easy. All I had to do is say freeze while slowly closing my hand into a fist at the same time.

I leaned over the side of my bed, and I grasped the half empty water bottle that’s been in my room for a while. “Are you ready," I asked?

 He replied," Yeah I am. "

I placed the water bottle in front of me and started to close my hand into a fist. Then, I said, “FREEZE," and finished closing my fist.

Only a few moments passed and then he excitedly said, "OH MY GOD! It froze! You're a witch! You just did magic! That's amazing!" Then he hugged me, so tight that I could feel his heartbeat, and strong body.

My heart stared racing fast, and I had a bunch of mixed feelings racing through me. I have the desire to kiss him, but I know that the time isn't right. I think I've always loved him, and just noticed that he feels this way too. I just wish that we could stay in this moment forever...
