9. Finally

I went up to my room and called Jay on the phone and told him that my mom said yes. He said that he would be over in the early in the morning. After I talked to Jay I called Seth and told him that we were coming and would be there tomorrow night or maybe Sunday. We had decided to take the long way there by going on HWY 1 instead of going on I-5.

 When I was about to go to bed mom walked in.

"Hey," she said. "I'm sorry about earlier. To tell you the truth, I am very worried about you after you went into the hospital. I don't want anything to happen to you. I love you so much! But, if there's anyone I trust more to take care of you it's Jay. I'm glad he's going with you."

"I know... Me too." I said. "But mom I'm fine! It was a freak thing that could had happened to anyone. And I have been playing sports all year and still nothing else has happened." 

"I know I just feel like you have been kind of distant since you were in the hospital and that you haven't been talking to me as much. And you know that you can talk and tell me anything. Anytime, anyplace, anywhere!

"I know..."

"I think this trip will be good for you. You need to see your brother more."

She gave me a warm smile.  "I know I can't wait to see him." I smiled back.

"Well... Good night. See you in the morning."

 "Umm mom..."

"Yah Tay." She said using my nickname.

I hesitated. "Good night. I love you." I was going to tell her about how I felt about Jay, but I thought that she would then not let me go to Oregon. 

 She came back over to my bed and gace me a kiss on the cheek. "Good night! I love you too." Then she left the room.

It took me a while to fall asleep because I started to feel guilty about wanting to find my birth mother because I love my parents so much.

When I woke up it was 7:50. I took a shower, and put on comfortable clothes. I grabbed my bag that I already packed, my spell book, my pillow and my blanket. It was now 9.  I went down the stairs and put my stuff in the car. Then went back inside to eat breakfast. I popped 4 waffles into the toaster. 2 for me 2 for Jay. He will probably be here any minute.

Sure enough he walked through the door when the waffles pop out of the toaster.

"Hey... You almost ready to go?" Jay asked.

"Yah, as soon as we eat our waffles."

"How did you know that I was hungry?"

"I just figured that you didn't eat anything because you wanted to leave early, so I made some for you."

"Well, thanks."

"You’re welcome.”

We finished in 10 minutes. I went upstairs and said bye to my parents, and then went down to the garage. Jay was already in the driver’s seat so I got into the passenger’s seat and off we went.

It's now 6pm; we have been on the road for around 9 hours. I guess we made good time considering how may times we stopped to look at tourist atractions such as the drive through zoo and a gondola ride through the redwoods. It was fun doing this with Jay because we have never really gone on vacation together before, and I took so many pictures.

Jay

"So I'm getting hungry. Do you want to get something to eat?" I asked.

"Yah sure." she said.

I looked through the window. We passed a big billboard that said "Denny's next left."

"Okay, there is a Denny's in this town do you want to stop there? I asked.

"Yah."

"It’s over there on the left." She turned into the parking lot.  We went inside and got a table. We ate our dinner; I had a burger and she had the country fried steak.

"That was so good!" Taylor said.

"Yah I know! I’m stuffed!"

"Today’s been so tiring. Do you think you want to drive for the rest of the way?"

"Yah... Of course I will!" I said.

We walked outside back to the car. The ocean was just across the street. The sun setting on the ocean was incredible! It is so beautiful. I looked over at Taylor. She looks as if she is sparkling like that beautiful sunset. She is looking at the sunset too.

Tay turned around and looked at me. She took my hand in hers and said, "Come on... Let's go watch the sunset from the sand!" Pulling me toward the beach.

We got to the beach and sat on the edge of the dry sand that is the closest to the water. Our hands are touching.

Tay said, "Isn’t it beautiful!"

I looked at her and she is just so beautiful! I couldn’t stand it anymore; I can’t control keeping all my feelings in! I blurted out, “I... I... I LOVE YOU!"
