Sorry about such a late update.

Calisa's POV

A girl raises from her sit and bows.

"Princess Calisa." She says.

Many other follows, girls and boys, bowing and acknowledging my presence.

"I cannot believe this." Naomie states looking around the classroom.

"My peasant ass better not come across yours or you'll regret it." I threaten making her eyes grow wide.

"By the way good luck turning back." I wish, passing my hand through my wet hair.

Oh yeah cause when a mermaid turned, doesn't matter is she was on dry land or in water, her hair was automatically wet. She had to dry it extremely well in order to turn back. It could be a pain in the ass.

I concentrate on shifting back and soon enough I have my two legs back, wiggling them to let the blood flow through. I walk back to my place, sitting down and putting my head once more on my arms, trying to now get some sleep.

A loud bell wakes me up and I lazily gather my things. No matter what school I'm in, I'm bored.

I've already studied all the material, our dad always made sure we read every damn book there was about supernatural creatures, especially if he was the author.

"Calisa, may I have a word with you?" Hunter's voice booms and I roll my eyes.

Patiently waiting for the class to empty before I sit on one of the desks facing Hunter.

"You are soon going to be the Queen of Atlantis. That means your mother must be ill." Hunter speaks up, looking at me.

Groaning I pass my hands through my hair and sight. Slowly I look up at my mate.

"Is there any way I can get out of being Queen? I can't handle the responsibility. It's not that I don't want to, because trust me, I love my people but that would mean I'd have to stay underwater for months and I simply can't give up land. I grew up on land and even though I am a mermaid, my witch side is closer to me."

Hunter nods and looks out the window, a faraway look on his face. After a moment of silence, he speaks up.

"You can simply resign and give your position to your closest relative or someone you trust."

I nod and get up "I have the perfect person in mind. I'm gonna have to go away for a few days, sort everything out, see what's going on with my mother, maybe say goodbye even though she cursed me and I don't love her, no one should die alone."

His head snaps in my direction "You're leaving me?"

Shaking my head I make my way up to him and hug him "I'm not leaving you, I need to take care of this. Just like sometimes you will have to leave to take care of pack business."

"But I don't want you to." He whispers, hugging me tightly.

"It's gonna be okay."

Hunter's POV

Two weeks.

Two weeks have passed since Calisa left to take care of her mother and Atlantis. Everynight I would go and wait for her at the shore hoping she would come back but she never showed up.

My wolf was getting restless and franckly going crazy being away from his mate and I would lie if I said my human side didn't miss her.

Even though I have lost some hope here I am, waiting at the shore where I first saw her shift, the moon high in the sky and my eyes glued to the water.

Sometimes I would see some movement, most of the time just fishes but every single thing made my heart race.

But my heart never raced as fast when I saw a figure emerge from the water and take a huge gasp of hair. Immediately my vision focus on the person and my lips turn into a grin.

Not thinking about it twice I jump in the water, thankfully only wearing a pair of shorts and swim up to my beautiful mate who reaches me faster than I reach her. I wrap my arms around her and put my head on the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply.

"I've missed you so fucking much." I mumble kissing her neck.

She laughs and pulls away, gently kissing me. Slowly we make our way back to the shore and simply sit there, as I admire her tail.

Pure white.

"So you are now Queen." I whisper.

The realization hurt me deeply, that meant she would have to go back to rule her kingdom and I wouldn't be able to do anything about it, it was her role.

She nods "Yeah well shit happened down there. Mother died, she was a bitch until she took her last damn breath, I got the crown, which, by the way, is a very shitty crown. I mean we are supposed to be the biggest underwater kingdom, yet we have a 2 dollar crown made of shells that are supposedly rare. Rare my ass. Anyways, I got the crown, people kept telling me what a bitch my mother was, cause I didn't even get one 'I'm sorry for you loss'. After that I was thinking that maybe I could stay down there, be Queen and do nothing all day but I remembered I have a dog waiting for me and we all know leaving a dog alone is a crime. So I arranged stuff and Atlantis now has a Vice-Queen. I didn't want to give up my title cause, I'm a motherfucking Queen now so I simply left someone who I trusted to take care of business while I'm up here. Of course I'll have to go from time to time. So yeah, that's what happened."

I laugh and hold her tightly "You could have come at least once to tell me you were okay."

"I would have if I didn't have someone up my ass 24/7. I swear I didn't get a second alone. As a matter of fact I had to sneak out in order to leave the kingdom. I left a note though." Calisa explains kissing my cheek.

We stay silent for a while, enjoying each others company and I kiss her neck gently, my wolf impatient to mark her but I restrain him, knowing Calisa didn't want me to mark her yet. Or at least I thought.

"If you want to do it do it, but I have to warn you, if you lose me it will hurt more." She softly tells me.

Not hesitating I let my canines elongated and bite down, feeling her tense before she relaxes, sighting. I lick the wound to help it heal before looking at Calisa who is looking at the lake, a ghost of a smile on her lips.

"What are you thinking about?" I question, kissing her head.

"About all the shit that is bound to happen to us." She replies.
