I fiddled with my fingers, waiting patiently, for Jisoo to come back from the supermarket. Seconds felt like full minutes and it seemed like I had been waiting for her for hours. I laid sprawled on the couch, staring blankly at the ceiling.i

Shit, I thought. I only had my school uniform with me and had no other change of clothes. Does Jisoo have clothes big enough for me?

My thoughts were interrupted when the rustle of keys echoed throughout the room, and Jisoo came inside with multiple plastic bags. My immediate instinct was to stand up and help her carry the bags. "Thank you," She mumbled, her cheeks still tinted pink. I chuckled, finding her facial expression cute.

I watched her carefully as she unpacked and organized all the groceries into their proper spot. My breath hitched when she tied her hair into a high ponytail and tied an apron around her waist.

She's really pretty.

I saw her struggle to tie it on properly so I went up to her and tied it for her. We were so close to each other, that I could smell her perfume. She was frozen and I nudged her slightly so she could continue what she was doing.

"Sorry," She mumbled and quickly fled, distancing herself from me.

"Do you need help?" I asked and she looked around, searching to find a job for me. "You can chop the kimchi." I nodded and grabbed the chopping board. I was so invested in cutting that I didn't realize Jisoo beside me, staring at me steadily.

"Are you done?" She asked, signaling for me to give her the cutting board. I handed it to her and her small hands grazed against mine. I saw her freeze again and I shot her a confused glance.

"Are you sick?" I said, putting my hand against her forehead. I felt her tense upon my touch and then she quickly went back to the stove.

Is she okay?

After a few minutes, the food was done and she brought it to the table. We ate in an awkward silence before I decided to break the ice.

"Do you have any male clothes? I only have my uniform."

She stopped eating, her cheeks plump with food and she stayed silent.

"I have some, you can borrow them," She answered quietly. I nodded, and the awkward atmosphere rose up again. We finished eating and I stretched my arms, satisfied with the dinner.

I saw her reach out to grab my plate and I stopped her. "I'll wash the dishes."

She shook her head in disagreement. "You're my guest. I'll wash it."

"You've done enough for me. I'll wash it. You go get my clothes for the night," I fought back and she sighed in defeat. "Fine."

She came back downstairs after 5 minutes and gave me a pink shirt with some black sweatpants. I thanked her and asked, "Where did you these clothes?"

"The pants are my dad's. And the shirt is mine," She said, and I almost choked on the water I was drinking. I was about to say something before she interrupted.

"Don't say anything. Just change. The bathroom is upstairs the farthest room to the right," She interjected, her cheeks pink. I chuckled at her and followed her directions.

I'm grateful that there's one person out there that doesn't treat me like I'm some sort of monster. She's so different when she's in school. She's like an entirely different person.

When we were alone together she felt a little more human.
