( im used to writing in 3rd person so please comment if i fliped back to that perspective instead of jisoos pov oopsies ) P.S. I'M BACKKKKKK!
It was overwhelming, I never thought I would pull such a stunt especially on the man whose lips were currently attached to my own. I don't know what compelled me to kiss him so suddenly but it felt so right after the gush of sincerity he revealed to me. In the heat and passion I completely forgot all about the problems we were having and simply savored every last minute of it. Irene and all thoughts of the darned high school were all erased from my mind as I tugged at his hair forcefully.
It was odd. I was a person who received fake love for the most of my life. He was someone who couldn't experience love at all. Was it fate that pulled us together in a time of despair?
Our lips parted and the only thing to be heard was our rough panting and ragged breaths, which echoed throughout the room. I looked up at him and he smiled at me and that's when I figured that all the rumors that antagonized him were not true. How can an accused monster stare at someone with such admiration and awe? I quickly denied the thought of him acting to work his way though my heart and smiled back.
Suddenly, a series of gunshots were heard and I felt Jin's grip on me grow tighter. Dalgom hid behind the counter and soft whimpering noises came from his mouth.
"What was that?" I whispered and he shrugged, making his way towards the window. I saw his eyes widen and looked back at me wildly.
"Turn on the news. Now." He said sternly and I couldn't help but feel intimidated by his sudden change in attitude, but still obeyed his request. I flicked on the TV, not having the courage or the confidence to ask him what he saw. I was scared and maybe being ignorant would make things better but my heartbeat only quickened as a result.
As soon as it turned on, an emergency broadcast flashed across the screen, making my stomach clench with uneasiness. The caption read 'Crime Rates and Misconduct Rises after Meteor News alerts Humanity'.
What a great sign.
"Everyone viewing this please remain in your homes to avoid this surge of crime and violence. Analysts predict that this aftershock will only last a while as authorities are busy jailing those that cause mayhem in our streets. We advise to stay home for a few days before going outside. Schools and Public Services will be available after a few days or a week. Authorities will be sent to protect public locations once they are available again. Stay safe as we resume regular broadcasting."
I stared blankly at the screen and turned to Jin who looked so stoic and emotionless. I suddenly didn't feel safe in my own house and stared at the man longingly.
"Are you going to leave?" I asked, trying to smile, but failed miserably.
He seemed bewildered and approached me, clutching my shoulders. "Are you insane? How can I leave you here alone? Take Dalgom and go upstairs. I'm going to handle the situation happening outside right now."
Outside? I ran past his grasp and peeked out the window. Chills went down my spine as I regretted my actions instantly. A few bodies laid lifelessly on the street with pools of blood embracing their remains.
"Don't go out there, please. What if you get hurt?" I pleaded, somewhat doubtful- wondering if he was taking this opportunity to abandon me and leave me behind.
"Don't worry. I'll be fine. Just do what I said and take him upstairs," He replied and I nodded reluctantly before following his command. I got to my room and shut every single curtain, window and door I could find, scared that I would be next. Who knows who psychotic some people can be.
A minute turned to minutes and minutes turned to hours, yet Jin still did not return. I was starting to believe that he actually left me to rot alone by myself. Then, a small knock was heard from the door and I opened it slightly- only to be relieved as Jin stood in front of me- more distressed and beaten up- but he was alive.
I ran to him and embraced him, happy that he was safe. But, his face was covered in bruises as he held grocery bags in his worn out hands.
"What happened??" I inquired and he shook his head, dodging my question.
"Nothing."
I grunted as he walked past me and laid on my bed like it was the first bed he had ever felt in years. Acknowledging his weariness, I decided not to push it and just watched him breathe quietly.
"You know Son Wendy?" He suddenly whispered and I nodded slowly, possibilities of their relationship were conjuring in my mind. Did he like her? Were they related? Did they have a past together?
"Yeah, why?"
He sighed and sat up, looking blankly at his knuckles.
"You won't understand how bad it is out there. Not even the authorities can handle this. It's crazy. People have freedom they never had before. They know the meteor will kill them so they find that they are validated to kill and steal because they won't live much longer and it won't matter in the long run."
I frowned at his vagueness and studied his sullen features. "Stop beating around the bush. Just tell me."
He gazed at me sadly before telling me straight to my face.
"I saw her in the streets." He said and concern grew inside of me.
"Did you escort her home? Was she safe?" I asked and he laughed bitterly.
"She was on the streets, alright. She was as lifeless as everyone else that cluttered it. She was dead, Jisoo."
