I yawned as I rubbed my eyes, my eyes immediately drifting to the spot next to me. I frowned, Jin was not beside me, and I half-expected to find a note on the table telling me that he left again. But, when a opened the door, a nice aroma filled the air as I smiled knowingly, relieved that he was still here.
"Hey," He greeted, giving me a wide grin as he stood in front of the stove- looking like a total dork. I smiled back and approached him, peeking over his shoulder to find his hand red and covered in burns.
"Yah! What is this?" I yelled and he gave me a cheeky smile, something I couldn't resist. "I spilled the oil on my hand, it's nothing," He assured and I frowned. I faintly remembered that those cuts and burns were there last night, but I just ignored it.
"Don't lie. I saw those yesterday. Did someone hurt you?!"
He chuckled and patted my head. "It's not a big deal. I'm still alive, aren't I?"
I huffed and sat down at the dining table, waiting for the food to be ready. I saw a flash of white run over to me and lick my toes, sending me into a fit of giggles.
"Awww, Dalgomie you're so cute!" I exclaimed, kissing his fur all over.
"Jisoo-ah. Why are you giving the dog kisses and not me?" He pouted and I rolled my eyes.
"Are you seriously jealous of the dog, Jin?" He nodded and I replied by giving Dalgom even more kisses. "Ah, kiss me back! Lazy dog!" I yelled and Dalgom jumped out of my arms to go back to sleep.
"I'll kiss you back!!!" Jin said as he puckered his lips but I pushed him away.
"I want to eat, go away," I replied and he pouted. I felt my cheeks go warm at the sight of it. Why does he look cuter than me?
"Why are you blushing?" He teased and I pushed him away, shoving the eggs in my mouth.
"It's because I'm so handsome, right?" He gloated and I rolled my eyes at his antics. He's so confident. "No you aren't."
"Wahhh! Yes, I am!" He cried. He is such a baby.
"Stop whining already you sound-" I jumped as the doorbell rang and sprinted to the kitchen to hide behind the island counter.
"Ah, you coward!" Jin yelled and looked through the peephole, his face scrunching up. "It's just mail, stop hiding," He said and I got up, embarrassed at my cowardliness. Jin brought in the envelopes and handed them to me as I flipped through each one.
One name stood out as my eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
Irene.
