We had to read two articles and respond to them
CNN was more professional than Fox in showing who they supported. It is easily seen that the writer of Fox's response either loves or hates President Trump. CNN was cordial and they expressed the views of each side of the argument without letting the reader get prejudiced at either party. Fox uses many of Trump's harsh and angry words in their piece. Though it read as angry, Fox's article had much more information in it. I found that there was more information about what exactly had happened and who did what. I did much more highlighting of Fox's article than Cnn's. CNN's article was almost sterile in its amount of actual information. I mostly highlighted what I thought stood out the most in each article and while Cnn has three pieces highlighted, Fox has seven. Fox relayed what the NFL players said and did in response to Trump and CNN twisted up their own version. Another thing I noticed was that the writers seemed to be on very different ends of the scale. The writer for CNN seems like they do not want their company to get too involved in this problem that the President is having with the athletes. The writer for Fox read very passionately. They used words that made the article a hyperbole. They stressed everything and made it seem like the biggest deal. This problem isn't even that big. Why does it matter if an athlete stands up or not during the national anthem? It's just a song. The President is just a giant hyperbole so why should we listen to him also. He can have his own opinions but that shouldn't affect one of those athletes careers unless he owns the team. He is, unfortunately, an influential man in the world of business, so his opinion might do something. In general, I just feel bad for the players and the teams who are feeling his stupidifying outlash. The players should be able to do what they want to do and that is my opinion on the matter.
