My Chorus three-part essay (part 1)

May it be, is a calm and beautiful song that is about defeating Sauron, and the one ring, and restoring peace to Middle Earth. May it be is originally featured in the last Lord of The Rings film Return of the King. It plays while Frodo and Sam are climbing up the mountain to the lava where the ring was forged and can only be destroyed. The prevail in their task and the war is won. Peace. That is what I get from this piece. When I sing or hear this peace the melodies in it create a smooth peaceful, calming sound. Our concert it seemed to me was about hard experiences and overcoming them. These are some lyrics that particularly stood out to me; May it be an evening star - Shines down upon you -Believe and you will find your way - When the night is overcome - You may rise to find the sun. The first and second sections of these lyrics say that a light from "up above" may shine upon you. That translates as some kind of mystical power will help you to prevail through all your troubles. The third said that if you believe in yourself and others you will find a way. A way to win. The last two parts say that when the darkness is gone you will be fine. This piece is about winning through your belief in yourself. Knowing that you are enough and can fight to win.
