Lilli stood on deck. She could smell the salty waved that crashed against the side of the boat. The wind whipped her hair around, undoing any state of tame it had been in before. Lilly ignored the throbbing of her symbol. She looked around, there many people on the boat, families with little children happily scampering around, playing make believe as pirates. Elderly couples sitting quietly on benches facing the water . And young couples walking around hand in hand, with there symbols running against eachother. A bright burst of color caught the corner of her eye. A beautiful girl with soft features and a nest of brown and purple hair flowing behind her in the wind. She wore a yellow t-shirt and tight jean shorts. Suddenly Lilli was surprised by a hand on her shoulder.
"LIAM!, you scared me" Lilli replied after her heart rate had calmed down. She looked over to her new friend. He smiled and showed her to a bench. Lilli never had many friends so it was nice to have someone to talk to instead of being lonely all the time. Especially on a week long journey.
"So Lilli, right? Tell me about yourself, I know why you're running away but if we're going to be on this boat together than we should be a little more friendly." Liam stated with hints of sarcasm in his voice. Lilli couldn't tell if he was being sincere, he had a little smile on his face, Lilli laughed.
"Why are you laughing?" Liam said chuckling along.
"Well I grew up in a small town, had a basic life with my overprotective mother. I like food a lot, aaaaaaand..." Lilli paused for a second, pretending to be deep in thought "that's about it, how about you" Lilli laughed again
"Well I was visiting here just for a month to 'explore the world a little bit' and it's about time I go back to the familiar. Like I said, don't have any family there, just wanna get a life, ya know?" Liam was so relaxed and comfortable talking to people. Although his words were spoken quickly they had confidence and the type of voice that one might consider 'chill'.
The two went back and forth until it began getting dark out. The shore was far out of sight at this point. Slowly Lilli got up from there seat and made her way down to her small room. She pulled out some of the food she had packed and quickly ate it. She was exhausted. Sleep should have come easily, but something was nagging at the back of her mind. She couldn't place her finger on it, 'this will have to wait till morning' Lilli thought as she drifted off into a heavy, heavy sleep.
