Drip. Drip. CREAK!

Prancing awake, I sat up in surprise, heaving heavily.

Rain attacked my now opened windowsill, the wild wind hurling licks of moisture in my eyes. In a way it was refreshing due to the puffiness of them, reducing the evidence of last night's tears. The night sky was a deep navy blue, the cloud's unrecognisable among the thick downfall.
"Ugh. Are you kidding?"

The floor was wet in unison with the soaking of my pyjama's from the downfall.

After heaving the window shut with a grunt, a knock immediately sounded from across the room once again scaring the life out of me.
"Lilith dear?" came Eloise's sweet voice, allowing me to exhale in relief.
She opened the door slowly before poking her head around and smiling.

I tried my best to act natural and cover the puddle with my legs, biting my lip.
"Oh good," she said. "You're up. Once you're ready for school come on down I've got porridge waiting for you".
"Oh? But Mrs Griffin isn't it nighttime?" I asked, confused.
She chuckled softly, her smile lines wrinkling as she left, leaving my question to bounce off the wall's unanswered.

It couldn't be the morning! It was so dark outside I could barely make out the contents of my room, nor the features of Mrs Griffins face before. Tumbling over to my phone across the room, I gasped when I saw the time. It truly was morning...and I had approximately an hour till school started. The Griffins lived so far from school though, even if we left now we would be late! I hoped they weren't waiting on me.

Dashing to the light switch, I quickly changed into the jeans Evelyn had lended me, a large grey hoodie I found in the drawers and my now rather damp lace-up shoes. I didn't bother with makeup, we were late enough as it was.

My hair bounced around my face in curls as I made my way to the dining room. I nearly patted my own back when I saw I'd found it on my own. As for my eyes, they still felt heavy and puffy.

"How is it you're hairs wet and you haven't even gone outside yet?" asked Demetri as I stood, petrified in the entryway. He looked towards the others at the table with his eyebrows raised. Maverick smirked over at Demetri when he saw my outfit, as if he knew something I didn't...ot just didn't approve. Rude.

"Truly, how is it? How is it?". He shrugged when nobody replied as if used to his sarcastic remarks.

He sat, poised, simply buttering a piece of toast as if we had all the time in the world.

"Shouldn't we be leaving for school?" I queried. "I mean technically we are already like three hours late, even if we left now?"
"Guess you're right," agreed Demetri.
"Oh dear," breathed Maverick, his head stuck in the newspaper. It was strange seeing someone so young read the newspaper.
The dim lighting from outside was substituted by the large chandelier above the oak table, but the knowledge of the darkness outside brightened nothing at all internally.

Elouise walked in then, carrying an arrangement of crimson roses to place in the middle of the table. She smiled at me giggling again.
"Wear you're seatbelt honey," she warned.
Bouncing over to Demetri who had just grabbed his bag, she whacked his arm.
"SLOW," she emphasised, nodding over at me.
He shrugged before gesturing for me to follow him out, a slice of toast between his teeth.

I gasped when my eyes laid upon it. A 911 ice blue Porsche. Only my mothers favourite, yellow but that wasn't the point.
"Is it turbo?!" I exclaimed.
He looked over me a little suprised.
"You like it?"
"Like it? Love it. It was my mothers favourite car," I explained.
He shrugged and motioned for me to get in.

I clicked the seat forward to sit in the back, thinking about how people might see me getting out of his car and pick on Demetri for it. He'd already done enough for me I thought guiltily, looking over at his bandaged arm.
