My chest started to burn and my eyes water as I stood there speechless.
"Lilith, breathe your face is going red," Demetri beckoned as he started to approach me.I saved him a glance which must of reflected what I was feeling as he halted obediently, his body still but his hair flying past his chin.
"You...what?"
"It's best we all discuss this together," he replied staring blankly past me as if I hadn't spoken.
He bent towards Demetri's ear, attempted what supposively should have been inaudible to me yet I heard loud and clear.
"Assemble everyone in my lounge-"
"My lounge," Demetri cut in bluntly.
"Just do it," he snapped, "and make sure she wears something with more flavour to it I really can't function properly."Nice.
"Are you ever serious?"
"Serious? That's missing from my vocabulary I believe you stole it!" He whispered in a hush. All the meanwhile I stood crossed arms and my foot tapping impatiently as I took the insult.
It really was nothing compared to what I usually get thrown at me. But coming from Demetri's family, it hurt much worse for some unambiguous reason."I really don't see what's wrong with my clothes," I pointed out loud.
They both turned surprised, gaping at me.I stared confused at my plain outfit. Jeans, black sweater and socks because we were inside.
Unsure what to do next and sensing that I should be elsewhere, I reluctantly walked towards the door.
The last thing I wanted to do was leave this magnificent room. I'd have to memorise the way there.
As I proceeded to grasp the handle, Demetri grasped my other hand causing my heart to do the flips it does at any sudden contact.
I jumped away immediately despite recognising his hand texture.
I yanked my hand back and took a few steps back.
"Curious," I heard Julius comment as he gaped again wide eyed and enlightened.
I felt sick.
"I keep forgetting. I'm so careless, don't be mad," blabbered Demetri.
"It's fine," I said rubbing my arm up and down to rid of the goosebumps that had arisen.
"Demetrius, now," urged Julian, snapping his finger and pushing past us with a sassy tone.
He must be gay I thought. Affirmative.
I watched him walk off with his superior flair and wanted to pursue him but something mentally held me back.
"Yes, behold," exalted Demetri, the answer to all your questions."
"Very funny," I retorted. He gave a playful half smile before he nodded his head to beckon me out.
Before stepping out I took one last look back at the room and smiled. I caught Demetri's eyes and saw him smiling smugly also.
Thank you.
"You're welcome," he said making my paranoia scream.Closing the door behind us I found myself trying to think of some conversation starters. I mentally added 'search conversation starters on google' to my to do list.
Maybe I'll ask how he is in his studies. Yes.
As soon as I went to speak it just died in my throat.
