Lilith's Perspective Continued
Demetri stood braced for attack but held his position, eyes parring with the intruder. He looked so fearsome I almost would have felt safer in the arms of the killer.
Demetri's eyes, which were a mesmerising onyx were now a foreign ebony, ruthless in their venomous depth.
I was alarmingly aware of the sharp knife pinching the think layer of skin on my throat, Demetri making the most unnatural of noises and my insides screaming at me to do something.
I felt as if I had two heartbeats. Wait no, there was definitely two heartbeats.
My necklace weighed heavily around my neck, pulsing.
Demetri bent and made an internal growl that scared me right out of my skin as the knife was pressed tighter to my neck making me raise my chin to the ceiling. It sounded like...like an animal.
Like a canine snarl,
like a wolf.
"Let the girl be," he barked. "You're not here for her, she's just a human. It's me you want. Come and get me," he beckoned and reopened a cut id never seen from his upper arm.
I'm just a human?! Then what are you?
Blood trickled visibly down his skin. Only, his blood looked as if it was shining. As if a child had taken shimmery glitter and mixed it with his blood. It had me spellbound for a second.
I gasped aloud, earning a beastly hiss from behind my ear. It licked its lips loudly and seethed raggedly, its repugnant breath down my neck.
"Stupid resurrected. We aren't here for you," spat the creature in a gravelly voice, applying more pressure to my wrist's making me cry out in pain.
I heard Demetri snarl again in response.
It's felt as if there were multiple foul arms holding me at different points making it impossible for me to break free. This can't be happening!
My mind screamed and shrieked at me with incomprehensible loose words that sounded like they belonged to ancient poetry or another language. Something on my neck pulsed stronger and stronger, but the knife at my throat restrained me from seeing what it was. I churned under its weight.
For a split second, Demetri's mask shook in confusion before he glanced behind us sheepishly.
It was then in that moment that he smirked the most dangerous smile I'd ever witnessed and chuckled.
"Then try and claim her," he roared and faster than my eyes could capture he slung the kitchen knife flying through the air, sinking it right past my ear.
A sudden gurgle noise came from directly behind me and I was sure I'd never forget the grey noise.
Instantly, I was released, the knife falling to the ground with the limp body, landing in Demetri's embrace for the second time.
"Get away from me!'' I screamed and backed away over more inflicting glass, shoving him away.
Regrettably, I bumped right into the unnatural limp body and gagged, frantically trying to escape the scene.
"Lilith it's alright. Everything will be alright,'' Demetri insisted as he approached slowly, arms raised in surrender.
"Stay away! Not one step closer!" I cried, my eyes struggling to hold back tears.
Fear bloomed in my chest like a deadly flower. Why did my lungs feel like they were heaving for twelve people?! I turned and held my hands to my mouth in a gasp, a tear escaping down my cheek.
