Alexis' POV
Today is the dance, and just like every other dance, Kaden didn't ask me to go with him. I glance at my phone to see a text from Alex.
Hey, gorgeous, I'll pick you up in 10 minutes.
Okay, see you then.
I walk over to the closet and pick out my white heels to go with my light coral dress. My hair is done with light curls cascading down my back, with the perfect peachy eye shadow look to tie it all together. I have a few white bracelets on my wrist and a pair of shaved pearls around my neck. I glance in the mirror with a satisfactory smile on my face.
"If only Kaden was the one taking me to the dance." I murmur to myself and frown. I'm startled by a horn blowing outside my house. I look out the window to see Alex in a white limousine with a few other cheerleaders, Kaden and Jordan in the back. I mentally face palm, I should've known this was gonna happen. I think to myself. I walk down the stairs and wave to my aunt.
"Have fun, sweetheart. Love you." Her raspy voice mellows my nerves as I walk out the door.
"Hey, Alexis. Wow, you look beautiful." Alex says kissing my cheek and giving me a baby blue rose.
"Hey, you don't look too bad yourself." I wink at him, ugh, he makes me sick. I think to myself. I want this over with.
Alex opens the limo's door for me as I'm welcomed by Jordan's glares and Kaden's wide eyes.
"Hello, my sweet, nice to see you again." Kaden whispers to me. Jordan glares at me, as she stands up and sits on Kaden's lap. Wow, she really is evil. I snicker.
"What are you laughing at?" Jordan's arms cross over her chest.
"The failure your family created." I shrug as Kaden holds Jordan back.
"Whoa whoa whoa, ladies. No reason to fight over me." Kaden winks at me as Jordan tenderly smiles at him.
"She's mine, Kaden, watch it." Alex says smirking at me.
"As if." I murmur under my breath.
"What was that?" Alex says looking at me with a shine in his eyes.
"Oh, nothing." I fakely smile at him while putting my hand on his shoulder. He tenses down, and smiles back at me.
---
After a seventeen minute drive to the clubhouse, where the dance is, I step out as I'm immediately welcomed by the smell of roses and freshly mowed grass. I look around as I'm put out of my trance by Alex's hand welcoming mine in a tight grasp.
"Hey, are you doing alright?" Alex asks me, with a concerned look in his eyes.
"Oh, I'm happy." I lie. I wish I was with Kaden, he truly is perfect. His blonde wavy hair was nicely put back in a formerly fashion, his blue eyes; with the ripples of waves crashing over, I could watch him all day. I am snapped back to reality with the flick of Alex's two fingers. He shakes my hand.
"Okay, keep your head up. Alright, beautiful?" I feel heat rising to my cheeks as I turn away and start walking with Alex to the clubhouse. We walk in, and I get frightened with a run of two girls coming my way.
"Lex! You look so good!" Chloe says smiling, interlocking our elbows together. I see Mark running after Chloe.
"Why'd you-" Mark asks out as he pants and looks up. "Oh, hey, Alexis. You look great." He smiles at me. His blonde hair flipped over to the right side of his head, and his green eyes shining in the dark of the ballroom.
