Visiting Heat - Chapter 5

Alexis' POV

I wake up, slowly rising from the heat of my bed.

"Oh, I'm visiting Florida today." I sigh and look around. It's 7:04 on the clock, I roll my eyes and get up. I walk over to my closet and start texting in the group chat, including: Luna and Chloe.

Hey, Luna and Chlo. I'm visiting my father in Florida this weekend, don't worry. Love you both -A. I send the text and pick up my already packed bag and set it on my bed. I toss on a light blue hoodie on, my favorite black leggings, and my black and white checkered vans. I walk out of my room and hug my aunt and uncle good bye.

"I'll see you both on Monday." I smile at them and walk out of the door with my duffel bag in my hand and my keys and purse in the other. I walk to my black charger and start to drive to the airport. Watching my house disappear in the background. I arrive, and I grab my luggage and get into the airport. A few minutes later I'm boarding my flight and I rest, letting the rumbling of the flight relax me into sleep.

I wake up as the plane lands, it's jetting forces waking me up quickly. We come to a screeching halt and everyone listens to the lady speaking in the intercom.

You may exit the plane to your left. Thank you for enjoying the plane ride, have a good day.

"I'm in Florida." I murmur under my breath and smile. I turn my phone off of airplane mode and check my notifications.

I can't wait to see you, text me when you land. I already told you my address, be safe. I smile, grabbing my bag and heading out of the plane. I can't wait to see my dad.

I can't believe you didn't tell us, text us when you land. Luna's text makes me laugh as I walk past all the little shops around the airport.

I exit the airport and call a taxi. The taxi halts and I open the door and put my items inside.

"To 238 Westley Road." I say, I decide to call Kaden. A few rings go by and he answers the phone.

Hey, beautiful, where are you? Are you doing okay? He says, I imagine his hints of worry on his face and I frown a bit.

Hey, Kaden, I'm in Florida right now, I'm visiting my dad.

Why didn't you tell me, my sweet? I would've understood.

I'm really sorry, it's just the look on your face last night before I went home was too precious to make you sad. I frown and giggle a bit.

Okay, well tell me next time before you play a Kylie Jenner, and go completely dark on me. He chuckles and I hear his voice deep voice mellow. I smile.

Okay, be safe, Kaden. Have fun this weekend. I giggle a bit and smile.

Goodbye, my love, please keep me in check. Love you. I blush and smile with gratitude.

The taxi comes to a stop, "Thank you so much, sir." I say to the taxi driver and hand him a five dollar bill. I step out of the car and look around. A Californian looking house awaits me, with two stories towering over me. Around the yard are tall palm trees welcoming me to an island paradise.

I walk up to my dad's house and knock on the door. I hear footsteps and I'm welcomed by a chilly breeze as the door opens, revealing my mother and father. My dad throws his arms open and I walk into him, hugging him and his warmth. He backs up a bit.
