The One And Only Reaper! (Fairytail X Naruto)

Chapter 16

I was pretty much caught up to speed thanks to Naruto. When I had followed him he went back to his apartment, which was right next to mine. I was able to make out basic words when he had caught me up to speed.

In the morning me and my team were to report to the forest of death, I sighed and slumped myself against the couch. It had to be around sevenish.

I held my necklace in my hand, praying Wendy would pick up.

"Heyo, sorry I missed your call earlier, we were busy with your situation and all." I was overjoyed to hear her voice, clearly too.

"No problem, so, I am in a exam to try and advance my position as a ninja!" I enthused about the chunin exams.

"So like an S- class trial?" I paced around my apartment, not being able to keep still.

"Precisely." I nagged on and on about the trials, that was until I heard a knock at the door.

I walked over Wendy still chatting away. "One second, Wends, someone is at the door."

She stopped talking for a moment, I twisted the door knob slowly pulling it open to reveal a raven haired boy.

"Are you okay? You seemed off after the attack you reviewed from the sound nin?" He said that before I had a chance to even say hello. Second of all how did he even know I was off.

"What do you mean, I was completely fine after the attack." I attempted to play it off, but it didn't go so well. 

"Your lying, what didn't you tell me! You never said you were attacked!" Of course Wendy had to intervene, this is troubling. I didn't really want to tell them about fairytail, not yet at least. 

"I asked you how you were hit, yet you responded with a nod." God I need to learn how to lip read, that could have saved all the trouble.

"Did you blow out your ear drums again?!" I face palmed, mentally cursing Wendy. The last time this happened is when Natsu had shouted into my ear, saying he was all fired up. That happened about a week before I came here. 

"No, a dolphin raped me... of course I blew out my goddamn ear drums!" A sarcastic tone overtaking my voice. Uchiha sweatdropped and Wendy grew silent. 

"Is that all, Uchiha?" I asked with a annoyed tone, tapping my fingers against the lacrima. 

"No, why is there a voice coming from your necklace?" Well shit, how was I supposed to get out of this one. I guess there is no point of hiding it.

"This is Wendy Marvell, maiden of the sky, or whatever else they fucking call her. She is my best friend, in my home Fairytail. That reminds me, any news on your little assignment?" 

"You betcha, can't go long without you here. We have found out where you are is similar to Edolas, in a way of a different dimension or universe per say. How to get you back, well we are still working on that, to find out what we have as of now is quite troublesome. We had to call in a specialist." I clenched my teeth and punched the wall near me, how dare they call him in.

"What the hell are you guys thinking! That man has tried to killed me on multiple occasions." Uchiha had tensed after hearing this. "You know as well as I do, Hailey, that this man is the only way we could get you out of there! We are doing this for you, please don't start now!"

"Okay but the least you could do was not call my fucking dad into this! He has put me through hell and back! He tried to kill me when I was eight, yet instead of killing me Atlas had stepped in and sacrificed her life for mine! You know how it feels to have your mother stripped of you! Yet, your mother is still out there, she merely disappeared, mine died protecting me from that man!"

"You aren't the only one who was against this! I was against it too, so was the rest of team Natsu! But majority vote had taken over, more than half the guild had wanted in on it, including master!" I went to swing at the wall again, only for Uchiha to catch my fist. 

"What happened, you have never lost your cool?" Uchiha looked me dead in the eyes, something different was in his eyes. Concern? No that couldn't be it. 

"I'm okay, don't push it." I said with a sweet smile, ah yes, all it takes is a beautiful fake smile to hide an injured soul, and they will never notice how broken you are. These words I have lived by for all I can remember, or so I thought.

My family is famous for their own special magic, passed down through generations. Expect one thing, I could never learn it. My father had disowned me for being apart of the family when he had found out. 

My mother never was sick, she had been murdered, by people who wanted our magic. I can't forget one detail of that day, no matter how hard I want to. I remember her telling me to run, get as far away as possible. My life from that point turned into a living hell, until I had met Atlas.. 

 Our magic was dimension riffs, creating different riffs in space and being able to switch the dimension we are in. I began learning at around four, expect I could never quite grasp the way to do it.

"I am going to bed, seeya Wends, Uchiha." I let the necklace fall through my fingers, losing connection before Wendy had time to respond. 

I went into the small bedroom and slid down the door, silently crying.

I was left baffled in her apartment, was she crying. Sniffles were coming from behind the door, no matter. Quickly I opened the door and walked out. Embracing the deadly night I walked to my apartment.

As much as I tried to get my mind off Hailey, it was pointless. I tried getting her smile out of my head, it didn't work very well. 

The streets were empty, being around almost eleven. I opened the door and got into bed, tomorrow exams should be fun.
