Chapter 30

I readjusted in the bed I was in. I opened my eyes and was blinded by the light. I noticed a blue haired girl had her head laid on the bed.

She must have stayed here until I woke up. "Wends."

She slightly shook and readjusted herself. "Your up!"

She threw her arms around me, embracing me into a tight hug. "Where is everybody?"

"They are all working on repairing the guild hall. Even your friends are." She said with a smile. Looks like everything was over.

I went to throw my legs over but discovered that my right leg wouldn't move.

"What's the hell is wrong with me?" I somewhat yelled in frustration.

"Your tissues, nerves, and muscle were torn. I don't think you will be able to move that leg again." She said as her smile faded into a frown.

"That's what he meant." Then it hit me the precious ability he took away was my ability to fight. That cocky bastard.

"What who meant?" She asked, a look of confusion rested upon her face. "He told me that because he couldn't kill me he was going to take away something precious. In this case it was my ability to fight. Can you grab me a pair of crutches?"

"Surely." She forced a smile and left the infirmary. I let a single tear drip down my face. I quickly wiped it away and waited for Wendy to return. 

Wends rushed back into the room holding onto a pair if crutches,  which she handed to me. I lifted my right leg and pushed it off the bed. 

"How many people know?" I asked her as I stabilized myself with the crutches. "Only me, I figured you wanted to tell them." 

I nodded as she opened the infirmary door. Everyone was pitching in trying to fix up the guild hall. 

"Hey! she's awake!" One of the guild members yelled. I was immediately surrounded by FairyTail. "Are you ok? What happened to your leg?"

I looked towards Mira, the holder of the voice. "Yah, I am fine. Just need a little time off of my leg."

She smiled and gave me a quick hug. When everyone cleared away, Wendy held a displeased look.

"Why didn't you tell them about your leg?" She said in a whisper tone. "They don't need to know unless we are completely certain Okay?"

"Fine, but somebody is going to notice that you can't move your leg." She stormed off in a small fit of rage, I have never heard her speak in that kind of tone before.

Something else has to be concerning her. But what is it? I walked over to the ninja, each doing their fair share of work. I should do something for them, but what?

At that moment I limped my way over to team Natsu. "Guys is the karaoke place in Magnolia still open?"

"I believe so, Why?" Erza asked with a tilted head. "Are you guys down to go tonight?"

"If it means I can beat Ice Princess with my amazing voice. Then yes I'm in!" Natsu yelled with a smirk. "What'd you say flame brain? I am going to sing way better than you."

In mere seconds their heads were pushing against each others. Their magic levels starting to spike.

"I want to show the Ninja the way of Magnolia. So seeing the city then karoke should be good." I said to the remaining three girls. Wendy, Erza, and Lucy. Wendy was still a little mad so she didn't do much talking to me. 

"That sounds like a great idea." Lucy said with a smile, Erza nodded in agreement. "What time is it now?"

"Around mid afternoon." Erza said in response to my question. "We'll leave around sevenish."

All three of them nodded, I smiled and limped off. I approached a group of ninja. They were all scattered in small groups around the guild hall. Three of them were working on the back wall. 

"Hey Shikamaru! Tenten! Guy!" I called out, which got their attentions. "Hey Hailey!"

 I smiled at Tenten quickly then got back to business. "Are you guys down to go out tonight?"

"Where?" Shikamaru asked, slightly confused. "I can't tell you. All the ninja and my team will be going."

"How Youthful!! I will go to this youthful event!!!" The other two nodded. I smiled and walked off. 

I made my way over to team 7, minus me. "Hi, do you guys want to go out later? Shikamaru, Tenten, and Guy are attending as well. Plus my team."

"I want to go!" Naruto yelled, which made me smile. Kakashi nodded along with Uchiha. "Perfect, I'll swing by later to get you guys." 

With that being said I limped off. I was going to go home. Unlike most of the girls in Fairytail I lived in a apartment in town. 

I walked around the town and into the woods, I took the back way into my apartment. 

My place looked almost exactly how I left it, besides the light layer of dust that dusted my belongings. 

I smiled and slowly sat on my bed. The smell of lavender was the same, my books were still open the day that I left. 

I looked at the cover, it was the journal of Dragon's. I flipped through it, seeing my messy handwriting across the pages. 

All the accused sightings of dragons, to just descriptions of dragons. The most recent one in my journal was one who was described to look like Atlas. A part of me knows that she's dead, but the other hopes she was alive. 

I closed the book and tossed it onto my desk, with a bunch more books and papers. I sighed and sat in my chair at the desk. 

Let's see what I can do about this leg of mine. My eyes flashed green as a root from a flower on my desk sprouted, It slowly made its way over to the bookshelf. It weaves its way around a book, which it brought back to me.

I flipped through the pages of a medical book. I came across a page on tissue, I hopelessly scanned the page for something. But, with my luck there was nothing.

My eyes flashed green again as another book was placed in front of me. This book was on simple engineering. With no way to heal my leg, maybe by making a brace would be a benefit. 

I found a full leg brace that could help in my situation. I smirked and got back on my crutches. I hopped out the door and to a weapon forge.
