After a sleepover at Jeremy's house, I ran my way towards home because my father told me to return the following day. As one of my best friends, Jeremy is a smart, wild and crafty scientist.
Yesterday night, he showed me his latest invention called the Echo Mutator Interface Communicator which apparently creates a close room for no sounds to be heard from the exterior and interior of the provided space. I thought it would be helpful as someone can use it to keep their bedroom quiet to prevent disturbances while sleeping. Of course, Jeremy agreed to my statement and planned to lend it to one of his family members as a test subject.
Onwards, I pulled out my backpack and zipped it open to the slower pockets to find my keys.
As soon as I unlock the door, I heard noises coming from the second floor. I assume my twin sisters named Sarah and Hannah were arguing, it's cute how their names rhyme like two peas in a pod.
So I ran upstairs and bust in the door wide open, I was right as I suspected. The room was a hot mess with a feeling of anger circulating the atmosphere, divided into two points. On Sarah's side, there is a pillow fortress made out of blue sky pillows. On Hannah's side, her pillow fortress is made from pink ones. Throwing dolls, plushies and toys at each other for a moment, they stood up and attack each other by hand viciously. To prevent any more harm, I intervened and scorned them, demanding to know why they were fighting.
They stayed silent, so I tried teasing them around. "Alright, don't tell me, I'll just get mommy and daddy to-" I was cut off by their pleading and begging not to tell them. Then they gave in and accepted.
"We were discussing the feat of our names. My name is the Grace of God which is found in the book of Samuel while Sarah means Princess which is found in Genesis." Hannah says, "Trying to compare which of us, mom and dad loves more."
"Hannah, Sarah, what's the problem with your names meaning different things?" I asked, "Why bother to argue about who's better than the other?"
"Noah, you're a boy, you won't understand, so stay out of it!" Sarah shouted. They teamed up to kick me out of their room, closing the door shut.
I couldn't believe what I have seen. My two 7 year-old sisters kicking their 12 year-old brother out of their room. I don't know why are they arguing about their names. I was confused and my arms were outstretched. Not figuring out a reason to why it has happened those minutes ago.
Then I forgot to feed my pet turtle in my room. His name is Tony and I went to my bedroom to do so. Afterward, I did my daily routine for the rest of the day; Homework, Exercises, Playing video games just like any other teenage boy would do.
As time flew by...it was exactly six in the evening and Mother calls everyone to the dinning room for dinner.
We all sat together at the dining table to enjoy a nice, peaceful dinner. But one thing stood out to Father's eyes.
Hannah and Sarah kept giving each other a stare-down. Father spoke out. "Hannah, Sarah. Would you two care to explain what has been bothering you today?"
They both dropped their heads. He asked them one last time. "What is bothering you, girls?" Father asked. "Daddy, Sarah and I were arguing about the meaning of our names." Hannah replies timidly, "Why did you and mommy gave us these names to us?"
"There are two reasons why we named you Hannah, Hannah and Sarah, Sarah..." Mother incorporates while putting down the food on everyone's plate at the kitchen counter.
"It is to differentiate you two from any confusion for others to call you. Having the same name, might not be sure which of you that person is trying to call for." Father explains as simple that he can make my sisters to understand.
"The other reason is because your father and I decided to name both based on the most important and worshipful females to God from the bible. As well these names have meanings from itself too. Sarah is our princess daughter and Hannah, you are our graceful daughter." Mother explains with her empathy.
Hannah begin to cry joyfully and Father gets up from his chair.
"Come Hannah, you too Sarah." Father said with his arms wide open.
Father hugs them, "Please, I don't want you two to argue about which of you we love the most." my sisters began to weep while he confront them.
At first I thought of myself, "Then what does my name mean?" Then I remembered that "Whatever it means, it doesn't matter because Father loves the three of us equally just like God loves all of his creations equally too." Mother comes to the dining room and embraces me too. She holds my head close to her chest. She gives me a rub on my back. I understood tonight's lesson.
