(Red) "Damn!" We sprinted through the forest, narrowly dodging rounds from the Revenant.

"Split up!" I nodded at Blue and went left while he ran right. I heard a shot explode near me and cursed. I attempted to circle the Revenant that had its sights steadily focused on me. I threw a grenade at the vehicle and he veered to the side, running into a tree.

I grinned through my visor when I saw the tree give up on life, slowly falling towards the driver. I felt my celebration become short lived as he turned on the boosts and charged straight at me.

"No no no..." I couldn't get out the way so I jumped up and curled up. I felt the shell of the vehicle slam into me and my body rag dolled into the air. My shield was completely gone but I seemed pretty fine.

I grabbed onto a tree branch but I was too heavy. The branch snapped and I fell right onto the cannon of the Revenant. I grunted and rolled myself off, narrowly missing a shot that instead went towards Blue. I landed in the passengers seat, looking over to the driver.

"Oh boy." He turned over, looking at me and I punched his face. His head snapped to the left, saliva flying. He then looked back towards me, roaring in anger and delivering a punch to my face. My head flew back and slammed into the side of the vehicle, immediately getting concussed.

When my head came back up, his fist when for another round. I jerked my head to the side, hitting the front of the vehicle. I groaned and pulled out my battle rifle clumsily. The Chieftain snorted at my stupidity and looked over at Blue, charging him head on.

Alarms went off in my head, concerned for my partners safety. There was no way he could dodge whatever the Chieftain's charge. He fired and Blue jumped to the left, dodging it. Before he could begin running, the Chieftain already hit the gas and was speeding towards him.

I had regained some of my senses after having my lights knocked out and aimed my battle rifle at him, pulling the trigger. Three bullets penetrated his skull, earning me a disgusting cracking noise for my efforts.

Blood splattered the side of the vehicle and his head fell onto the dashboard. The Revenant kept going and Blue did what I had done, jumping up and trying to soften his blow. He was sent flying through the air and I wasn't even thinking about myself when the Revenant ran into a tree.

I flew out of my seat and managed to miss all the trees around me, becoming a living car-torpedo. When I hit the ground, I rolled a couple times and tried digging my feet into the ground to slow myself. My feet tripped over a tree stump and I began rolling again until my head hit a rock. Everything blacked out for me and I was left hoping Blue was having it better off than me...

————————————————————————

(Vex'Redna) Victor has been silent for the past hour. I calculated we had five more minutes until I was back at the Revenant I used for this mission.

"Did you kill them?" I glanced behind me at the limp figure of Victor, who didn't even bother turning to speak to me as his head hung low, swaying back and forth.

"I left one of them to bleed out." I saw more and more patches of light, signifying that I was possibly one minute from getting out of here.

"Why have you captured me?" Victors voice sounded a bit shaky and I sighed, hoping that he wouldn't start crying.

"None of your business. You'll find out when we get back."

"Where?"

"It doesn't matter."

"Of course it does or else you wouldn't be going there."

"Well it doesn't concern you so shut up."

"I hate you."

After I received his last reply, I heard his voice crack and I could tell he was silently crying.

"Shut up..."

He continued to cry.

"Don't make me ask again! Be quiet."

Now he was sobbing.

I growled and picked him up, setting him in front of me and grabbing his shoulders firmly. I took a knee, attempting to meet him eye to eye but he was staring at the ground, letting tears hit the dirt.

"Stop crying! It's aggravating." My demands for him to stop began to feel useless. He didn't exactly have a bad reason for crying, I just wanted him to shut up.

I glanced behind him and heard a low humming. My eyes narrowed and I threw Victor over my shoulder, taking quicker steps to get to the Revenant.

I heard loud laughter being belted out near my vehicle and that's when I saw it: a group of brutes and a few grunts, standing around my vehicle.

My only guess was that the Chieftain had managed to send out a distress signal. Whoever remained loyal to him had all gathered up near his location and were assigned to take me out, or Victor.

Luckily he had stopped crying, realizing something was wrong. I set him down and stared him straight in the eye, finally obtaining eye contact.

"Stay. Here. You know I'll catch you if you run away. Plus, you have no one to run to. I'm all you got if you wanna get past these Brutes so don't be stupid."

He stared at me blankly and I took it as an 'I wont run away.' I walked out into the open, turning my cloak on. There were two Ghosts, a Wraith and one Revenant parked around my vehicle. I walked around the vehicles and snapped the neck of a lone grunt that stood away from his group. I grabbed one of the plasma grenades off of it and wasted no time.

There were 5 Brutes and 3 grunts. I stuck one brute right in the chest and it let out a cry of frustration before being engulfed in a fiery blue explosion. The remaining enemies looked everywhere, guns readied but they saw nothing.

I took my last plasma grenade and chucked it at another brute who was standing near a grunt. They both died and I had finally been noticed. I ran forward, right into the crowd of them, my energy sword sparking to life. I sliced across the neck of one unfortunate brute who sprayed blood everywhere, falling to the ground.

The other two brutes charged me, letting out war cries. I took out my plasma rifle, spraying it in ones face. He crumpled to the ground. I looked beside me at the Wraith and grabbed the turret, hopping in it to escape the other brutes clutches. I grabbed ahold of the triggers whilst landing in the seat and let loose on the remaining enemies.

After a job well done, I hopped out and walked back towards the forest to retrieve Victor. When I caught sight of him I groaned. He had a pistol in his hands and was aiming it towards me.

"Listen, you really-" he gave me no chance to finish my sentence and he shot the gun at me, missing horribly.

I chuckled but then stopped, hearing a cry behind me. A suicidal grunt dropped both his grenades and I cursed, diving out the way from the explosion. I looked up at Victor who stared down at me blankly.

"You better protect me." He sniffed and put the gun back in his back pack. I got up and walked towards the Revenant, Victor following me closely from behind.

"Only when someone's trying to kill you. Once I deliver you to my General, you're none of my business." I hopped in the Revenant. Victor got in the passenger seat and didn't say a word.

I had to admit, the kid was a decent shot for his age. I started the Revenant and headed back home.
