(Vex'Redna) I had never really looked at the emotions that ran through a humans face when faced with the aftermath of a war. That's usually because they were all dead or we were retreating, not worrying about something like that.Picking up Victor and dragging him to the Revenant had been a way easier task than I expected. The look plastered on his face managed to disturb me slightly though.
It was a look of hopelessness. Defeat clearly shone in that stare he had been casting at the ground for the past twenty minutes. The tears he let out were dried up on his face. Why did I take note of this? What did I care that he was distraught from something like this? It makes sense for him to be upset but why do I care? He was following me emotionlessly back towards the stone building, where my commander awaited.
I went through the entrance along with Victor, where the commander awaited the news of a successful mission. Right when the commanders eyes landed on Victor, he pointed to the entrance, his eyes darting to me. "You may leave Vex'Redna. Your mission is complete." I nodded in appreciation and walked out. I got the slightest twinge that something was off about him dismissing me so suddenly but I didn't say anything.

(Victor Huff) The commander was a pretty intimidating sight. He wore white armor that had its battle scars proudly scratching parts of it. His eyes were red, which was an exotic and scary color for me to look at.
"It's truly too bad that you're a human... I heard from one of my troops that got back before you did that you'd killed a decent amount of my forces. If only you'd been a young potential for my race..."
I just stared at him. He got up and took a few steps forward, stopping two feet in front of me.
His height was well over 7 feet and it was staggering. I took one step back and looked up at him."The stunt you pulled by escaping has complicated my plans, if that makes you happy. Actually, the plans won't work anymore. I suspect that humans will be arriving soon and that they have a location of where you were brought back." He began to pace around me, almost talking to himself.
"There will be a large amount of them. More than us, most certainly... We will fight." He looked down at me, ending that sentence with a bit of pride in his voice. He kneeled down to eye level with me and I wanted to look away but he had locked gazes with me, forcing me to stare in fear.
"All of my troops think they're fighting for the prophets; to kill humans and succeed in harnessing forerunner technology, which will bring us a step closer to achieving the great journey. However, that's all a lie." His tone dropped to something deadly and I backed up, not feeling real safe. He got back up and slowly started walking towards me.
I backed into a wall, only able to watch him. "I fight to kill the humans. I hold your pitiful race below me, yet you're the reason I've lost so much. I refuse to run away from battle any longer. I will take down every human that I can in this battle."
He dashed forward and I yelped. He grabbed my shirt, hoisting me in the air, pushing me against the wall. "I'll start with you. And just to get it off my chest... I haven't told my troops about the prophets lying to us. It's the reason we fight against you. You're all seen as obstacles that get in the way of something so great for our race when really YOUR race is the runner-up for the forerunners power." He grabbed his energy sword and activated it, holding the blade an inch from my face. I flinched and looked to the side sweating.
"I hated your race even more after learning the prophets had lied to us. Finding out that humans and not Covenant were the successors to the forerunners weaponry and technology should of defused my hatred for you and created some sort of understanding but it's sadly not the case for your life. Goodbye human."
