"I know i was wrong, i made a very terrible mistake and the only thing i can do is to ask for your forgiveness " Emeka said as he knelt down looking into my eyes. I couldn't look at him. I was too hurt to say anything. The tears ran down my face with no restrain. He tried to grab my hand but i pulled away and made for the door. Before i could walk a step further, there he was, in front of me, with those puppy dog eyes and those pink lips that every girl who knew him wanted to kiss. At the moment, those eyes melted me and i was ready to forgive him. However the pain of all i passed through because of him stopped me and i looked away. "Please look at me Ngozi" he said and took my face in his palm. I shivered vigorously. He knew the effect his touch had on me and he was using that. However, I still was not ready to forgive him. "Emeka, please go away and let me live my life" i said as my voice cracked from hours of crying. "I never meant to hurt you Ngozi. I never did. It was all my mo....."

"Yes i am aware it was all the fault of your devilish mother!" I screamed. "But the least you could have done was to protect me, the one you say you love from her"

"I would do anything to make you take me back Ngozi" Emeka said kneeling and pleading

"Anything?" I asked

"Yes Nnem. Anything" he replied

"I want to write about everything" i said

"I don't understand " emeka replied looking at me confused

"I want to tell our story, the whole story and nothing but the truth" I explained

"Why? Ngo (which was his pet name for me) why do you want the world to know our personal story

"That's what i want i said"

"Done" he replied

"Done? You do not mind?" I asked

"Nne, i will not pretend that i do not mind you telling the whole world our tale, but i would do anything to have you back" Emeka said

"Thank you" i said and hugged him. He leaned closer for a kiss but i gently pulled away. "One step at a time Emy. I am not ready"

"Of course" he replied and hugged me tightly once again. We stayed in that embrace for a while before i took out my laptop and began typing. I know Emeka was confused, but it seemed right to me that our story be told. I began typing furiously, ready to let the world know what we had been through. It seemed it was our destiny to be together.
