Nneka was lying on the bed with her eyes closed when Anselem came into the masters bedroom. He called her name but she did not answer. She had her eyes closed, and was lying in a very comfy position. It looked like she was fast asleep but Nneka was not. She also did not answer her husband as she had had a very bad day and did not feel like talking to anyone. She could be nice when she wanted to, but at the moment she felt really grumpy. When Anselem called Nneka twice and got no response, he went closer to her to ensure that she was really Asleep. Wondering what her husband was up to this time, Nneka gave a tiny little sigh and turned around on the bed in a sleepy way. This assured Anselem that she was asleep, and he dialled Ngozis number. She picked, and he gave a little sound of excitement.

He had been calling her for sometime after they had first spoken but she never answered any of his calls. She reminded him of his wife Nneka when she was younger. That was probably why he was attracted to her. Nneka was the first and only woman he had genuinely loved with every bit of him. For the past 17 years that he had been cheating on his wife, he had never fallen for any of the ladies he stayed with. They were only there for his satisfaction. He still had feelings for his wife, but he was done apologizing to her. Moreover, Nneka was a proud woman and he doubted she would ever forgive him for his sins which had accumulated over the years. He threw each women he slept with to her face, just to let her know there were a lot of fishes in the river and she was not a goddess. He was never discreet about his affair but made sure she knew what he was doing. Nneka never complained for once. Rather she pretended like she did not know what he was doing,  and Anselem presumed her heart was closed against him. The more he cheated, the less she seemed to care.

However there was something different about this young lady he had met. She reminded him of Nneka, but a passionate and more forgiving Nneka. He was determined to know more about her. However she kept pushing him away. He was on the phone with her, trying to use his nice words to win her over but she seemed adamant on seeing him as just an older friend.

Anselem sighed and finally said

"I was wondering if you were busy. I was planning on seeing you today"

However she said no, and dropped the call on him.

Visibly sad, Anselem decided to take a quick shower and rejuvenate himself.

As soon as her husband left the room, Nneka opened her eyes fuming. She knew that there was OBVIOUSLY something greater going on here. She knew her husband well enough and knew he was a very meticulous man. She took his phone, and saw that it was the same girl he had called the other day. The same one he had been speaking to like a loverboy.

Desperate for more information about this mysterious girl, she checked her husbands log book. This book of Anselems contained 98% of his contacts and more information on them. Her husband did not keep it lying around, and she presumed he was not aware that she knew about it. Nneka checked for the names under N, and saw a lot of Ngozi. Her husband did not save the lady with her name and last name in his phone. However after looking through the 'Ngozis' she saw in his log book, she finally found the one that matched with the same number. It said 'Ngozi Anyanwu. Met at crescent street on 21st may 2007. Looking for employment.'

Nneka read and reread the logbook to get more information on the mystery lady but that was all.

Well she thought, at least she had a lead. She finally knew the last name of the lady, and knew where her husband had met her. This was not much information for her, but she was a wise woman and would work with what she had. Distant footsteps told her Anselem was probably on his way back from the bathroom. She kept the log book, resumed a sleepy position, while hatching plan after plan in her mind.
