Noelle W.
I stepped out my car and smiled at my building. My beauty supply was coming along together sooner than I thought. I walked inside and saw Diamond and Jamir struggling to put together a shelf. The paint was finally dry and the construction was finished so I was finally able to come in and take a look at everything.
"Look at the directions Jamir!" Diamond yelled before looking over at me. "Hi Noellie!"
"Hey. Why are you two putting up shelves? Where are—"
"The construction crew went out for lunch so we just decided to try and see if we could put this together." She said while dropping the shelf on the floor. They would always come in and do some shit they weren't supposed to do.
"Look at you." Jamir cooed before rubbing my protruding stomach. I was now seven months pregnant and couldn't wait to see my child.
"Did you ever find an outfit for your gender reveal?" She asked. The sex of the baby was still a secret because my mama and Mama Sheila wanted to have a small gender reveal. I was too anxious to find out if I was having a boy or a girl. I didn't want to have a gender reveal because I didn't want to have two baby showers. But since my mama and Mama Sheila was excited about their first grandchild and decided to pay for the small gathering, who am I to say no?
"Yes I just picked it up yesterday."
"Good. I can't wait! I hope it's a boy—"
"I hope it's a girl." She interrupted. "You know what, I'm just glad the baby's healthy."
"What if it's twins?" Jamir gasped, making me hit him in the chest.
"Don't speak that into existence." I told him. I will probably cry if I find out that I'm having twins. Twins are too stressful.
"I'm just playin'. Have you been takin' your vitamins?"
"Huh?" I asked while scratching the back of my neck. The vitamins the Doctor has me on is so disgusting. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth so I stopped taking them.
"Noelle! You have to take your vitamins!"
"Okay Diamond I will eventually." I told her. She shook her head at me before walking away. I don't understand why she's so upset.
"You know we're only lookin' out for you." Jamir nudged me.
"I know. But those vitamins make me sick."
"Well tell her!" He yelled before I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I leaned on the glass case hoping that would help. Lately, my stomach pains were starting to get worse but I would never tell them that.
"You okay?" He asked me before rubbing my back.
"Yeah. It's just this baby can't stop moving." I groaned.
"What did you eat?"
"Chicken salad. It's not because of what I ate my baby is just a busy body." I laughed. It was hard for me to sleep at night because my baby didn't have an OFF switch.
"Come sit down." He instructed.
"I'm fine Jamir—"
"Girl, sit yo' ass down." He told me. I laughed before sitting down in the tan folding chair. My baby was making me so uncomfortable and I gained five pounds so far. Even though you couldn't tell, I still felt fat and I hated when the Doctor brought up my weight gain.
