Joshua's POV

He was in the middle of the night and he was sleeping in his bed like he was supposed to when he heard a sound of the front door. He wasn’t fully awake so he didn’t panic and went back to sleep only to be woken up again by Aira. He opened my eyes and blinked at her.

“What’s wrong?”

In his defence he was still half asleep at the time and was used to sleeping with her next to him.  She looked at him strangely and it was enough for him to wake up and remember that she was supposed to be locked inside the hospital. He was so shocked it took him a minute to respond to her unexpected presence.

“Wait! What are you doing here?! Why aren’t you in the hospital! How did you manage to escape when they were watching you 24/7?”

He was panicking so he failed to notice her body swaying because of the drugs she was given in the hospital. She was a bit more aware of her surroundings than she was when he visited her in the hospital but the drugs hadn’t left her system yet.

“Air is hard to catch and to keep trapped. There is always a bit of it that escapes. You can close the windows, you can close the doors but the air still finds a way in and a way out and you know air was always my element.”

“Stop with the nonsense and tell me how you escaped! Why are you here?”

She was leaning on my wall looking tired and she sneered at me.

“Do you really think I want to be here asking you for help? I… If I had a choice I would go somewhere else, to someone else…anyone else! Joshua, I need help and…”

He stood up and took the phone in my hand. He dialled the number of the hospital before she knocked the phone from his hand.

“Are you listening to me? ... Please help me! I have nowhere else to go! I am being serious!”

She picked up his phone from where it landed, went straight to the window, opened it and threw his phone through it. He jelled in frustration and punched the wall. It wasn’t the smartest thing to do but he needed to punch something and it was either her or that wall.

It was a stupid decision as he was now not only annoyed and developing a headache but also in horrible pain since his hand was hurting horribly. He forgot to mention that he had also damaged the wall. It most definitely was not worth it.

“Aira, I know it feels to you like you’re in a real danger but you’re not! You are completely safe and nobody is after you! Okay?”

She frowned at him and shook her head. She crossed her arms.

“I am in real danger and it will be your fault if I get hurt for dismissing my words so easily.”

“It’s not even real!”

She began to say something but stopped looking unsure of herself and started to slightly sway from one way to another.

“Sorry I turned too fast…”

She looked to him apologetically and started to say something but he interrupted.

“You need to focus! Not only are you delusional, now you are becoming paranoid too! Did you come up with a couple of conspiracy theories lately? What are those doctors doing to you in that hospital? Instead of making you better like they are supposed to they are making you worse?!?”

She tried mimicking him and let me tell you she was horrible at it.

“You are crazy! You are delusional and paranoid go to the nearest mental hospital and get drugged again! Nobody is after you. Bullsh*t! You need to start listening to me! I AM telling you the truth.”
