A/N: ONE THOUSAND READ SPECIAL OMG

When Gerard was twenty-two Frank was twenty-one.

The pair sat in Gerard's studio apartment going over everything for Frank's psychology test. He was in his third year of college, having started only a few months after he graduated high school with honors. He received a scholarship from Pennsylvania University in Philadelphia, which offered one of the best courses in psychology. Frank was fascinated by the human mind, how it worked, how people made decisions, and how emotions were formed.

Gerard had followed Frank to the college in Philly, and majored in English and Literature. There was a different school he had wanted to attend to study English, but the separation from his boyfriend was enough to make him think twice. After so many years of crushing on the younger as a teenager, and then finally getting with him, Gerard still couldn't handle being away from Frank for too long.

In all honesty, Frank couldn't deal with being away from Gerard either. On some level, they were absolutely obsessed with each other. Attached by the hip, as their friends would say. They were often still teased because of how much time they spent together.

Their mothers were still very close, and thrilled to see their boys so happy, but sometimes they wondered just how healthy Frank and Gerard's relationship was. Linda and Donna couldn't help but think that maybe their sons spent too much time together. Every Sunday the two women would get together and have brunch on one of their front porches. As they discussed all manners of subjects and gossip, the topic of their boys' relationship was always brought up. Linda would ask how Gerard was doing, and Donna would give her a knowing look, saying that his grades were great, but Frank was the main thing on his mind. Linda would laugh and shake her head, and then her smile would drop just the slightest.

"I'm worried they'll get tired of each other, or once they graduate and have to work more they'll realize they want something else." She would say to her friend.

Donna would be quiet for a moment before saying, "I suppose all we can do is be there for them and support them. They're happy right now, and that's all that matters." Linda would agree, and the two would change the subject.

A few states over, Gerard smiled down at his boyfriend, who was sprawled over their shared bed. In his mind, Gerard thought he could never get enough time with the younger. He couldn't get enough of him in general.

"Gee?"

Gerard snapped out of his daze, focusing his gaze on Frank. The boy had twisted himself so his head was hanging off of the bedside and his feet were against the wall. Gerard thought the way Frank's hair dangled made him look adorable.

"Yeah, babe?"

"I need help," He wined, "I don't understand how to answer this question that's supposed to be on the exam."

Gerard got up from his chair and sat down next to his boyfriend, who pulled himself upwards.

"Well, what's the question?" Gerard asked. Whenever he helped Frank study for exams or quizzes, it often turned out that Gerard was right more than Frank was. The younger would leave to take his exam in his classroom after spending the previous hours studying with Gerard. When Frank returned, he'd go over the exam, asking Gerard all the questions he had previously gotten wrong. Gerard would answer them correctly, or at least to how Frank's professor would deem them correct.

It frustrated the younger to no end, and he wondered if Gerard should've majored in psychology rather than himself. Gerard then assured him that if he had done so, it would've been a waste of time, since he already knew the material without having to take the class. He rather his wisdom be shown through the books he would eventually write.
