Michael continued laying on his bed, hours after Luke had left. He didn't want to get up, he just wanted to sleep and forget about everything that had happened. But he couldn't, he wouldn't forget. How could he forget Luke? Luke meant something to him and he knew Luke would for a long time.

He thought about calling Luke, he didn't want to let him get away that easily. But he was sure Luke would't answer. Michael didn't understand why this was happening, and he didn't understand why everything that made him happy got taken away from him.

-

Michael stayed in bed for three days, it felt like he was getting over a bad breakup. But this was worse he thought, because they had never even dated.

His mother tried asking him why he was so upset but Michael didn't want to explain why, it would sound stupid. It would sound stupid to explain that he was head over heels for a boy he met less than two weeks ago who didn't like him. His mother wouldn't get it. Michael wasn't even sure he got it.

-

It had been a week and a half since Luke ran out, and Michael hadn't left his house since. He had nowhere to go, it's not like he was talking to Luke anymore and Calum and Ashton were at their cabins. Michael sulked around the house the whole time, he just wanted this summer to end already.

He couldn't stop thinking about Luke, and his stupid blue eyes, his stupid smile, his stupid giggle, his stupid everything. Michael wanted to hate Luke, that would make everything so much easier for him. But he couldn't hate Luke, he didn't think it was humanly possible for anyone to hate Luke.

-

Michael stayed inside his house for two weeks, he refused to leave his room. He was miserable.

His mother was sick of hearing him complain about how much the world hated him. So, she went inside his room to tell him he had to leave the house today and she wouldn't let him in till later that evening.

Michael of course was reluctant at first, but soon came to realize he didn't really have a choice.

Michael changed into some clean clothes, and left. He didn't even check his hair, he didn't want to see how he looked. He knew he looked awful, he felt awful too.

He left his house and started walking down the street, he had no idea where he was going to go. He only had five dollars on him, so he couldn't do much. He sighed, put his headphones in and continued walking.

-

Michael walked around his neighborhood for about an hour, he was quite bored but his mother wouldn't let him inside yet.

It was hot out and Michael was getting sweaty and thirsty. He still had a while till he'd be let back in his house, so he figured he should probably get something to drink before he passes out.

-

The only place Michael could think of to get a drink was the coffee shop he went to with Luke, and Michael really didn't want to go there. But as much as he didn't want to go, he also didn't want to die from thirst either.

He made his way to the shop and even though he didn't believe in any gods, he prayed Luke wouldn't be there.

He didn't think he could handle seeing Luke any time soon.

-

Michael walked inside, it wasn't too busy which he was grateful for. He walked up to the counter, and ordered a bottle of water.

After getting his drink, Michael made his way to a booth. He was looking at his phone while walking which probably wasn't a smart thing to do, he realizes that now. Because when he sat down and looked up, Luke was in the booth ahead of him.

"just my luck" Michael muttered to himself, which had caught Luke's attention. Luke turned around and stared straight at Michael. He looked surprised and a bit scared.

Michael had to leave, he didn't care if he had to sit outside for two hours. He couldn't be here, he couldn't be around Luke. He was going to cry if he kept looking at the beautiful boy in front of him.

He got up and quickly made his way out of the building, he ran down the street letting his tears fall.

Why did things have to be so messed up?
