Caledonia Harkin was having a really bad night. Since the fire, and death of her parents, she hasn’t been able to sleep. She was also nervous about continuing  her senior year at a new school, with no one she could count on. She felt that no one would understand her. She was around five foot four, with long brown hair, and her arms, stomach, and thighs were covered in tattoos that only had meaning to her. Caledonia turned and looked at the clock to see it was only ten, she sighed, got up and went downstairs to see that her aunt and uncle were still awake. She got a bottle of water and tried to creep by without them seeing her.

“Caledonia, what are you doing up so late?” Her aunt asked. It’s not late, only ten- usually I’m going out at this time. She thought to herself. Instead of saving this, Caledonia just shrugged.

“Couldn’t sleep.” She told them, standing awkwardly with a hand on the stair banister. She remembered the first time she had met her extended family, it was only ten days ago. They were wealthy and detached which trilled Caledonia because she didn’t want her life to be pried in. They told her along as she didn’t get pregnant, arrested, or drop out of school she could do as she pleased. What she really wanted was to go back home to her friends in her old home town; just as she thought of this her phone rang. The name “Tommo” popped up, and she grinned with a wave to her uncle and aunt, she made her way upstairs.

“Tommo!” She called loudly in the phone, and her best friend’s loud laughter answered. She imagined her friend sitting around with the rest of the gang. When Caledonia said gang she meant like loyalty; although the gang did have its fair share of fights, and often drank like it was nothing. Louis “Tommo” Tomlinson was the undoubtable  leader of said gang. He was covered in tattoos, with dyed hair, and had a harsh attitude  to those he didn’t like, and they got along perfectly.

“Harkin, you sexy bitch! How’s the small town life treating you?!” Lou asked her. She could hear Liam talking the back ground to Samuel. Liam “Payno” Payne was another member of her circle of friends, and the most kind. He was tall, bulky, with few tattoos, and had some piercing; his girlfriend being the girl version of him. He, along with longtime girlfriend Katie “Kit Kat” Turner, we’re the first to help her move.

“I’m nervous about school, Tommo.” Caledonia tell him quietly. She hears shuffling in the background. Caledonia was more nervous about school then she wanted to be, she felt that people would find out about the fire and pity her.

“Why?” Louis asked, curiously. This was not his Cal, she was loud, brass, and didn’t give a fuck.

“Lou, none of you are here. I can’t do this high school shit without my friends.” She tells, truthfully. She hears talking in the background, so she assumes she has been on speaker.

“Harkin. You are a badass bitch who doesn’t let anyone fuck with her, so no one is gonna fuck with you.” Caledonia listens to her friend, Niall. Niall was the gentlest of her friends. He had dyed blonde hair, no tattoos-which was strange considering all his friends had them-, and was usually quiet, but didn’t put up with shit. Caledonia had to laugh at his answer.

“Where’s Samuel?” Caledonia asks, referring to the last of her friends. Samuel Young was loud like Louis, but soft inside like Liam.

“Hey, Hark.” She hears, and she smiles into the phone. Samuel’s voice is slurred, so she assumes they are drinking, which makes her miss them so much more.

            “Hey, Young.” She says, laughing.

“Your aunt and uncle are treating you right, yeah?” Louis asks her, quietly. He hopes they are because he would hate to have to show them not to miss with his people.
