Caledonia listened to her aunt drone on and on about how nice the school was, but she couldn’t bring herself to care. Cal had always like school, she just found it tedious. In her old school, Niall and Samuel were the only ones in her grade. Liam and Katie was older at eighteen, and Louis had dropped out, although he too was eighteen. She often spend the whole class texting Lou or writing notes to Niall, she was smart-just lazy and uninterested.

“School starts at eight so you need to leave now.” Her Aunt Jane told her. Caledonia sighed and put her bowl into the dish washer.

“Yes, Jane.” She told her aunt.

“Ted and I will be home late so order in or find something.” Jane told her niece, who simply nodded in response.

Caledonia was dress in a dark top that showed off her tattoos, with dark skinny jeans, and combat boots. She had long brown hair in a ponytail, and her green eyes were framed with dark eyeliner. She took one last look at her outfit, then got into her car. The drive itself was not long, and soon she had pulled into the parking lot. She wanted just to stay in her car, but that would be childish. She wasn’t afraid of the school or its people, she just wanted to be back home. After taking a deep breathe, she opens her door and walks in the building.

She finds the office with ease, and stand impatiently waiting for the woman behind the desk to notice her. Finally, Cal clears her throat and the woman looks up with a start.

“oh! Excuse me! You must Caledonia Harkin! Here’s your schedule, dear. Hold maybe there is another student here who could help you….wait. Michael! Michael!” She calls out. A boy with dyed purple hair sticks his hand in the door.

“Yeah?” He says, rudely. He walks out complete and he is taller than Cal, and is staring at her sharply.

“Can you show Miss Harkin around?” The secretary asks nicely. Michael scoffs and looks Caledonia up and down. Caledonia raise her eyebrow at this weird looking kid. Is this asshole for real? She thought to herself. Michael nods, and beckons Cal to follow him. With a nod of thanks to the secretary, she follows Michael out the door.

“Look,” Michael says to Caledonia, “I’m not going to show the ropes of the school or some shit like that cau…” Caledonia snorted at him.

“Did I ask you too, asshole? Just tell me where my fucking locker is and I’ll leave you alone.” She tells him spitefully. To her surprise, Michael smiles at her and laughs.

“Ooh, kittens got claws. Alright I’ll show you.” He says, taking her schedule out of her hand, and looking at it. He walks her to her locker, and waits.

“Thought you weren’t gonna wait for me?” Caledonia asks him, smirking. Michael laughs again, and Cal decides he isn’t so bad.

“That was before you called me asshole, now I’m intrigued.” He tells her. Cal lets loose a bolt of laughter.

“Take your intrigue somewhere else, darling. Not interested.” She tells him.

“No, I don’t think so. See you seem like the kind of person I want on my side.” Michael tells her mischievously, and Caledonia doesn’t understand what he means by that. Before she can ask, another boy makes his way beside her. She turns to look and sees a tall, blonde, thin boy with a lip ring standing, grinning at her. “Well, hello, Lucas. Meet our new friend Caledonia Harkin.” Michael tells Lucas. Lucas smiles at Michael.
