prologue

"Right, there we are!" The blonde smiled at me pointing up. I looked up again from the number she had written on me to see a great big brown house. "What's this?" I asked. It surely couldn't be the house, I studied this place for months! "It's the main house of the camp. I swear. I live there, remember?" She chuckled brushing dirt off of her knees from earlier. "Woah! Really? Thanks Pez!" I hugged her so tight, I think I heard her insides burst.

"Right Jesminda" She said catching her breath, "After this you meet me by the creek and we'll find our way back to your camp, okay?" She looked me in the eyes.

Damn. Those eyes.

It's like staring off at the ocean after a storm.

After snapping myself out of my thoughts, I nodded at her. "Uh, about that babe, can you wait for me?" I asked remembering that Lucifer could still be lurking, no matter how long the PPPA watched him. She chuckled, "Of course baba, now run along!" She kissed my cheek and hugged me; then raising her hand playfully shooing me away.

I'm not sure what it was but I got all tingly and warm when her lips touched my cheek. It could've been sparks or something. But doesn't sparks mean something?

Oh well... I shrugged it off and waved goodbye before walking through the field. I couldn't be falling for her, but if I was.. it was happening fast.

Voices came from upstairs as I crept through the basement of this place. I'm pretty sure I have put my hand through quite a few spiderwebs, but I don't mind. I want to go home, I'll do anything to get there. I took a few tiny steps into what I believed was a closet, and flicked on a light switch.

I took a few deep breaths before silently lifting boxes and chests, it's a possibility the gem could be hidden there. I reached down and around until I felt my phone buzz from my pocket.

The text was from Perrie.

Are you done yet babe? I'm hungry, be safe xx

I quickly texted a reply; but not before taking notice that I got all warm and tingly inside again when she addressed me as 'babe'.

Yes Pezza, I'm done. The thing isn't here anyway, I'm coming back out. :)

Good, I thought I was gonna die without you. I felt my cheeks tug up into a big smile.

My phone buzzed in my pocket as I tied up my ginger locks. I got another text from the blonde, surprise surprise. There's a scary vulture waiting to eat me alive, hurry up! Followed by a second text; Nevermind, I'll eat him before anything. Come at me bro! The text read.

I laughed aloud, forgetting I was in the basement of my enemies house. But wait, Perrie's not an enemy. Oh well, I'll take the fall for her. Kinda like I'm falling for her, but real. Wait, where did these thoughts come from? "Dammit. I'm crushing." I face palmed, hoping she wouldn't hate me when I told her.

"Hello! Who's down there?!" A loud british voice boomed. I flicked the switch on the side of my phone to turn it silent. I closed the closet and jumped into the nearest vent. The man jumped down the stairs, thrashing things around until he reached a light. "This is why I'm thankful for my powers." I reminded myself in my thoughts.

This never happened. My mind worked hard to control his, he was a fighter. "Good. Now James can you go find me the gem?" I whispered, using my senses to make sure he could never remember this. "I can't do that mam." His deep voice said rather clearly. "It's at Simon's main house, not mine. Sorry to let you down." Okay whatever, go back upstairs. Please never remember this! I begged myself.

My eyes widened at the fact that this worked, well partially anyway. I now where it's at now. "Yes!" I climbed back out the window and rushed around the wall. Jumping into Perries arms gratefully accepting the hug. "I'm proud of you baba." She kissed my forehead, "Thank you Pez." I smiled, snuggling into her embrace.

I think I'm in love with her.

a/n: I did originally have a very short prologue for you guys but I wasn't too fond of it. This is short to, but not as short, thanks for reading! (and this fits along with the storyline anyway!)
