I had gone outside with Jed, Jade, and of course Perrie and Reggie, when we heard rustling from the woods behind our house. "Jed.. shhh!" Perrie stopped him from talking. Loud stomps and grunts could be heard, similar to the ones that night we were rescued. "Pez.. you don't think it could.. be?" "N-No.." She said tearful. But we were wrong, seven masked men dressed in all black crowded down by the bushes. Not Lucifer.
"Shit! Girls! Inside now!" Jed whisper-yelled, picking up Reggie and we all ran inside. We scattered around the living room, ducking behind the couches while Jed locked the door. He ran around the room shutting, and locking all of the windows, then closing the blinds and curtains. "Jesy! Go upstairs, get Leigh and Dani to help you with the windows up there! Send Cher down!" "Okay got it!" "Perrie, lock Reggie up!" I bolted up the stairs and she put him in the cage. I knew what was happening, James was coming to see if the girls were with us.
"I heard, our room, all bathrooms, and the other girls bedrooms are locked and closed already." Leigh said, double checking everything before I even had the chance to help. "Cher get your ass downstairs!" They had known what was going on.
I bit my lip, focusing carefully and sending a few waves through to everyone else, letting them know to bring what they needed and come over here. They could use the underground system, a way from getting around the camp when we're under attack. "NO! LEAVE! ME! ALONE!" A girl shrieked, then shrieked again. "FUCK!" I yelled, throwing myself out the door and down the stairs. "Pez.. baby no." I whispered to myself when I saw her thrashing around in Alex's arms.
"Baby! Baby come here!" I pulled her body from Alex and sat her in my lap in the middle of the floor. She was shaking, her eyes rolling to the back of her head while she chewed the inside of her cheeks. "Princess! Listen to me baby, I need you to stay here!" She was relapsing, it wasn't hard to tell. I wrapped my legs around hers and held her upper body against mine. "Who told her?" Everyone who had been in the room at the time shrugged. "She just figured it out. Then screamed when I tried to calm her down." Alex said.
Zayn, Hazza, Niall, Louis, Liam, Andre, and Harry came running in, clearly aware of what was going on. "Every.. thing.. is.. locked.." Niall huffed, "Camps on lockdown, we can only use the underground." Zayn finished for him. "Poor girl." He whispered, watching Perrie cry against me. "JAMES! HE'S DEAD!" Simon boomed, pounding his feet against the floor. We gave him questioning looks, to which he returned with an i'm-going-to-kill-him look.
"So what's the game plan?!" "First.. Jed." Cher nodded for him to go, and with one nod of his head.. no one around could read any of our thoughts. Let alone hear us. "First. Dani's going to put up a force field around the camp, no one can get in or out until she disables it. Nelson, clearly you'll fuck up some people." I nodded, intrigued at Simon swearing while I stared down at Pezza.
"If we need Leigh-Anne or Jade, they could burn and freeze, a great combo for attacks. Then, we could use a combo of Alex, Louis, and Liam for a good swing. No one can fight off sonic speed, super strength, or especially shape-shifting. If that's needed, we'll need to go straight to spells and blocking after— that's where Andre and Zayn come in."
"One question." "Yeah?" "What happens if we get hurt?" "That's where this angel comes in!" I smiled. Louis nodded. "For any backups, we can use Styles, and Cher for duplication and tornadoes to distract them. Anything else can be thrown in if it'll benefit, just don't be stupid." "Got it!" My heart pounded, everyone was alert and tension was rising. The girls and I, along with Andre, Zayn, and Alex; stayed in the living room while everyone gathered supplies if needed.
Andre was preparing weapons, since not everyone of us have a power that protects us. "Jess, actually no all of you come here." We walked over and he handed us each a fun. "Jess you've got a Glock 19, fully loaded, use it if you need to." He handed me a heavy black handgun, to which I tucked into the waist of my black jeans.
"Perrie, here you go. Test it out if you know how to use it, it's a silent shot." Andre pointed to an old piece of wood against the wall. She stood there, confused. "You know how to shoot?" He asked her.
She simply shrugged, before spinning around and nailing three shots in the small circle of the board. Doing a combo that involved a back handspring stepout, before pulling her leg above her head and shooting six more shots, bullseye in the middle. "Does it look like I know how to shoot?" She puffed, leaving the other six of us in the room shellshocked.
I held onto her waist while Gray reloaded her gun, before giving Leigh and Jade theirs. "I love you princess." I grabbed her cheeks and kissed her deeply. When we released, her lips were red and swollen, surely a mirrored image to mine. Andre gave a disgusted look when Jade and Leigh shared a tender kiss in front of him, so I smacked the back of his head. "Now is not the time, jerk." I mumbled, he just laughed and rolled his eyes.
"Come on! Downstairs!" Everyone rushes to go underground, scrambling to grab their weapons, spellbooks, bags and phones. We had just made it down, locking up the four cellar doors, one by one, about twenty padlocks and key locks each. We then entered the last door, which unlocked by thumbprints of everyone, along with a special password only we know. Thankfully, we'd put Jade and Perrie's prints in the system before this happened.
We locked it up, letting the top notch security systems do their things. Before tunneling through the metal halls that were eleven feet under the ground. "Here!" Simon lead the pack as our feet scrambled on the tile flooring. No one knew about the underground. All of us climbed down four more flights of stairs, locking one more safety door behind us. Tunneling left and right, we crouched when we heard a faint boom. They got into the house. We're already one step ahead of them. Thankfully we left nothin impo- Reggie!
I started to cry instantly, "D-Did anyone bring Reggie?!" Everyone's eyes went wide. "Calm! Down.. guys! He's here." Zayn pulled out a small crate with the animal inside. "Thank you Zayn! I can't believe I forgot about him, I'm the worst dog mom ever." I facepalmed, and everyone else chuckled at me. "Hmph."
"Let's go guys, we need to get under James' camp and through to the riverside before sundown." "What?! How do you expect us to get that far in that amount of time?" I inform my cousin, "If you think about it.. we have eight hours to walk thirteen miles. It's not that hard." "Exactly Harold." I held in a laugh when Simon called him that. "Get a move on! This is dangerous." All of us held our weapons and supplies close to us as we marched through the underground. My eyes trailed to Perrie, who stood beside me. She had her game face on, but in her eyes, I could tell she was terrified. Especially because we all knew exactly who those men were looking for, her and Jade.
Speaking of Jade, she walked hand in hand with Leigh-Anne, trembling with fear. Everyone knew she was strong enough, but sometimes it got to her a bit. Also, that's why we left now, so we could make it quickly past where the most trouble would be. And at that, we could do it safely.
"Am I going to die?" Jade asked out of the blue. Everyone continued walking. "You won't die Jade, my league has stronger powers and most of his are younger. We have talented people and specially designed weapons. The most you might get if anything is a few cuts and bruises." The gray haired man spoke clearly, meaning his words. I'd been in hundreds of group missions before, going along with Leigh and Harry, or Zayn. I never went alone, until the one night that I met Edwards and Thirlwall.
We walked and walked, jumping at small noises and stopping to drink some water and check our weapons. We were all alert, no doubt about it. I'd wished I was at home, watching a movie in bed, but war is war. I have to fight for what's right, because it was clear James ran with the dark side. That's why my relationship was hidden with Perrie, more like undercover.
