Draco's P.O.V
I stood, trembling in the courtyard. The ruins of my school were burning around me.
I felt a rage rise inside of me. A rage I had never before felt. I think that tears were slipping down my cheeks as The Dark Lord announced "HARRY POTTER... IS DEAD."
The Deatheaters' cackles were white noise to me. All I could focus on was Harry's limp body in Hagrid's arms.
I tried to suppress a sob as I thought: I was going to tell him. After all of this I was going to say how I really feel. I'll never get the chance to now.
I was faintly aware of my parents trying to coax me over. I stumbled, as if in a trance towards Voldemort.
He laughed and tried to hug me. I however, pulled back.
"Save it, Riddle. I'm not here to join you." I glared at him. He killed Harry, I thought. And I don't care if I die avenging him.
A ripple of shock went through the onlookers. Voldemort smiled sickeningly.
"Aren't you a brave little boy, being cheeky to Mommy and Daddy's Lord?" he cackled. His face turned serious. "I killed your friend and if you're not careful, you'll be next," he growled.
This is for you, Harry
I drew out my wand, but he was there faster. I closed my eyes and waited for him to kill me. He began to recite the killing curse. "AVADA KEDAV-"
"EXPELLIARMUS!" a voice interrupted. I opened my eyes and jumped back to see Voldemort's killing curse being countered by... Harry.
My eyes widened and I let out an audible gasp. Harry was alive!
I ran up beside him and pointed my wand at Voldemort as well.
"EXPELLIARMUS!!" I yelled. My spell somehow linked with Harry's. We hadn't ever learned to do anything like that in school and it could have backfired. Luckily, it made Harry's spell twice as effective. I felt a wild sense of freedom.
I was fighting next to the love of my life. Fighting not just against Voldemort but my miserable inevitable future. Against my past. Against my parents expectations.
And me and Harry were winning.
A/N yeah that chapter confused me too but I'm tired so give me some credit here.
