Draco's POV
"Why would you ever think it was a good idea?!" I snapped at Harry.
"I thought he knew!" Harry protested.
"Oh yeah, because my extremely homophobic father knows I have a boyfriend!" I rolled my eyes.
Harry and I had found our way to a muggle hotel after Harry let our relationship slip to Father.
"Dray, you never told me!" he defended.
"My exact words were "oh, and don't bring up the relationship stuff. He doesn't need to know yet". Do you even listen to me?" I questioned.
We were arguing quietly because it was midnight and the walls between the rooms were hollow.
"I do listen! I just forgot." he hissed.
"Oh you forgot? Wow well that makes everything all peachy." I said sarcastically.
"It's not my fault that your Dad is a pr*ck." he pushed.
That was it. I couldn't stand him say that about Father. Even though he neglected me, I was raised to worship him. I felt white rage flow through my body, from my head right to my fingertips.
"AT LEAST I HAVE A DAD, HARRY!" I yelled. The words had tumbled out of my mouth before I could even think. I clasped a hand to my hand, as if I could catch the words and stop them from announcing themselves.
Neither of us said anything and just gazed at each other for either a few seconds or a few years.
"I-I... Harry... I don't know why..." I tried.
His eyes filled with tears but his expression stayed blank. A hot tear fell down his cheek, leaving a light trail in its wake.
I could feel my own eyes glistening but I did not cry. I felt my breath hitch.
"Harry, you know I didn't mean it. Harry, I'm so sorry I have no idea why I said that." I gasped.
I reached my hand out to touch his shoulder, but he pulled away.
He looked confused as he shook his head.
"Who are you?" he whispered, before turning to leave the room.
I fell to the bed. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I thought. Why did I say that? What kind of entity has possessed me to lash out like that?
I stayed staring at a crack in the ceiling for God knows how long.
I looked out of the window out onto our lovey view of the car park. I could make out Harry's figure moving to our car. I watched him feel for the car keys. My hand went to my pocket, where the keys were. He hit the roof of the car and stormed out of the car park onto the Main Street.
I should call him. It's not safe out there at night. I decided. I pulled out my phone and rang him. After a few seconds his phone began vibrating on the nightstand.
He'll be back soon, I decided.
Today it's been two years since his disappearance.
