I ignore the noises coming from Caitlyn's room and go into mine. I turn on my television and try to watch Netflix for a while. A few minutes later I hear Caitlyn's door open, then close. I peak through my door that is already open and see a black haired guy walk out the main door. I walk over to Caitlyn's room and open the door. I walk inside and she sits up on her bed.
"Hey, E, when'd you get here?"
"About 15 minutes ago, who was that guy who just left?"
"Oh, just an old friend from our high school."
"Do I know him?"
"You probably don't remember him," she laughs.
"Oh," I laugh.
"Goodnight, Erin. See you in the morning," she smiles.
I walk out and go back to my room. I think about who the guy possibly could've been, but I fall asleep. The next morning I wake up and get ready to head to set for filming. I hear my phone and check it. I see that I have an email from one of my teachers that tells me about an upcoming project. I sigh. This is just wonderful. I'm in the middle of filming a series and now I have a project due in a week. You know, totally normal for a college student. NOT.
Caitlyn walks in the kitchen and sees me looking kind of annoyed. She asks, "Hey, E. You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm always fine."
"Seriously? You don't look fine."
"Okay, I'm not. My stupid teacher is making a project that is due in a week and I have to film this whole week. How am I supposed to do this? God, I'm starting to think this movie was a bad idea."
"Erin, this movie is one of the best things to happen to you. You'll be fine, I promise. What if you just take your stuff to set with you and whenever you get time, work on it."
I think about her idea for a moment and then respond, "You know, I think you're right. That's a good idea, thanks Cait."
"That's what I'm for," she smiles, "So hows Ryder?"
"He, um, I guess he's okay. We haven't really talked since he basically kissed me and told me that we could be together if I wanted."
"Wow, E, I'd totally hook up with him. He's literal perfection."
"Caitlyn, sorry, but you'd hook up with anything that has legs."
She rolls her eyes.
I say, "I better go to set before I'm late. Love you, bye."
"Bye, kiss Ryder for me."
I laugh and hurry down to my car. As I'm getting in, I see the guy who was with Caitlyn last night. When he looks over at me, he seems to notice me because he waves. He starts walking over to my car and stops when he gets beside it. I roll down the window.
"Can I help you?" I ask.
"Oh, um, do you not remember me?"
"Not really, should I?"
"Um, never mind, don't worry about it. Bye Erin," he says as he leaves quickly.
That was weird, but I better head to set. Finally, I arrive and start carrying the things for my project to my trailer. As I'm carrying the last little bit of my things, Ryder sees me and walks over. He grabs the bags out of my hands and walks beside me.
"Why do you look like you're moving in? Because if you need somewhere to stay, I could make some room."
"Ryder, I have an apartment. I just have to work on a project for school, so I'm gonna do some of it here when I have time."
"Oh, good luck," he smiles, "So, you ready to film with Brandon today?"
"Yeah, he seems like a cool guy. You guys seemed like great friends yesterday."
"Brandon's a great guy, and we go way back. We used to not get along too well when he was living with me."
"You lived together?"
"Yeah, just don't worry about it. I'll explain later. You'd better get to filming. See you later," he says as he kisses my cheek. He walks off.
I leave my trailer and head to where everyone is. I see Daniel talking with Patricia and some new girl who I've never seen before. Also, I see Brandon sitting at a table, so I walk over to him.
"Hey, who's she?" I ask.
"Oh, that's Bri, she's gonna play your best friend in the series."
"Okay, do you know her?"
"Yeah, she kind of used to date Ryder. Didn't he tell you she was gonna be here today?"
"No, he doesn't tell me much anymore."
"Sorry, Erin, I probably shouldn't have said anything."
"I mean, why would I care if his perfect ex girlfriend is here?"
"Because," he points over to where she's laughing with Ryder, "maybe that."
I look over and see them. I stare at Ryder until he notices I'm looking and roll my eyes. Then, I say to Brandon, "We should probably go film."
We get up and walk to where Daniel and Patricia are.
"You guys ready?" Patricia asks.
We both nod our heads and the cameras start to roll. Daniel nods.
"Sydney, why'd you leave us? Why'd you risk your life to save us?"
"Because you're all worth it. Especially you." I half smile at him.
"I-I-I don't know what to say."
"Don't say anything," I say. This is the moment when my character kisses Brandon's, so I connect my lips with his. It is as if fireworks go off and we are basically eating each other, which sounds gross but whatever. Finally, I pull away and everyone, well almost everyone, is clapping.
I see Ryder staring at me and shaking his head. He gets up to leave, but instead of following him, I let him go. Daniel and Patricia go over to review and edit the footage. Tina is smirking at me and probably laughing too. Bri is gone, honestly I don't know where she went and I don't care. I look at Brandon and he's just staring at the ground. He, finally, looks up at me.
"So," he says.
"So?"
"That was, um," he replies.
"Kind of nice," I smile.
"Yeah, but you've got Ryder to deal with now. Good luck."
"Yeah, I guess. I'll see you later," I say as I walk away.
I walk out and see Ryder in front of his car, talking to Bri. This is wonderful, she's totally still in love with him. And, to think he actually wanted to be with me. He looks up and sees me and walks over to me.
"Erin, hey, there's someone you need to meet."
"Um, okay," I say.
He takes my hand and we walk over to where Bri is standing. She smiles at him, and then she looks at me.
"Hi, I'm Bri. Nice to meet you," she sticks her hand out.
"Um, hi," I say.
"Okay, well, I better head off and go home. I've got a lot to do tomorrow," she says and leaves.
"Yeah, I should go too," I say.
Ryder grabs my hand and stops me. Then, he says, "What's wrong with you today?"
"Nothing, I'm fine."
"Stop saying you're fine. I know you're not."
"Okay, why is your perfect ex girlfriend here and why is she constantly around you?" I ask, annoyed.
He sighs and says, "Oh, you're mad because I didn't tell you about her."
"Just tell me, please."
"Well, we never really broke up," he responds and sighs.
