This is it, I'm going to be myself and if this doesn't go well then it's simply not meant to be.

Winnie said that to herself in her head a few times already but the time is getting closer and the anticipation of what Spencer could be planning is killing her.

She was herself though, and if the date went badly at least she was herself this time.

She looked in the mirror again. Her glasses and natural makeup looked better than she remembered. And she loved her new sweater. Yesterday's new look made her appreciate her old style more.

I don't have to be anyone else to be beautiful.

She chuckled to herself. She sounded like a Disney movie theme, but it was true. She walked out of her room and into the living room.

Something is different. Small something, but still different.

Suddenly her doorbell rang, and Winnie jumped just like last night.

At least I didn't burn myself this time. "It's open, Spence." She was busy looking around her living room for the small different thing.

"Winnie what are you doing?" Spencer asked. Winnie was busy scanning all the books on the shelf.

"Something is different in here. Like out of place, I can feel it." Winnie said moving on to the next shelf. Spencer glanced at the polka dot pot.

"Oh, um I have a surprise then" Spencer walked over to the pot and as he suspected a small green sprout had risen from the soil. "I'm not a gardener or anything but I planted this seed a few weeks ago and have been watering it every time I visit."

Winnie looked at the small different thing inside the pot she hadn't noticed something was growing inside. It was an awfully small sprout. But the way Winnie's mind worked. The details she perceives so naturally, it's no surprise that this small sprout would make a difference in the way she views her living room.

"Kalanchoe blossfeldiana, also known as-"

"Widow's-thrill" Winnie gazed at the sprout. "It's beautiful thank you so much!"

"Well, it's nothing special yet, it still has a long way to go," He paused when Winnie hugged him tight, "I'm glad you like it." And hugged her back.

When she let go she carefully placed the plant back on the shelf.

"So what did you have planned for today?"  Winnie asked, turning back towards Spencer. "I like your sweater by the way." Spencer's smile grew even bigger.

"I like yours too" Spencer loved how cozy she looked, so huggable. " it's a surprise." He pulled out an eye mask.

"Really? You're gonna blindfold me?"

"Yes," Spencer said placing it over her eyes.

"Okay, but if I run into anything or walk myself off a cliff, I'll kill you."

"don't worry Winnie, I got you,"

~~~
"Ouch!" Winnie ran into another sidewalk curb.
"Oops. There's a step there."
"Really?" Winnie said sarcastically. She really wanted this mask off. it's been on for the whole car ride and walked what must've been a few blocks by now.
"Don't worry we're almost there."
"Okay, I know this isn't romantic or anything but I thought it would be fun and who better to go with than you." He pulled off the mask.
Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum
"Oh my goodness, this is perfect! This is gonna be so fun!"
"Great, I was thinking we could go to the Observation Tower first then wander around till we get hungry. There's a McDonald's in there somewhere."
"Haha sounds great! Let's goooooo!" Winnie grabbed Spencer's hand then together they raced inside.
~~~

"Mmm, I forgot how good these fries are," Winnie said with a bite in her mouth already.

"I know, it's so great it doesn't even feel like I'm ODing on sodium." Spencer joked eating more fries. Winnie laughed at the comment.

"Spencer, " She said turning more serious. "I really had a great time today. You really planned the perfect day."

"Thanks, I just thought we should embrace the nerd side of ourselves. I like that best about you anyways."

"That I'm a nerd?"

"No, that you're yourself."
