Almost three weeks have passed since that second first date. When the night had ended Spencer took Winnie home. He had spent a reasonable amount of time in her apartment and yet this time he dared not enter. It was a real date, after all, He didn't want to make her feel pressured or send the wrong idea about anything, especially anything physical. He had gotten used to the hugs and occasional leaning on each other but kissing was something neither of them were ready for. At least that's what Spencer had assumed when he walked Winnie to her door.
Winnie, however, was not thinking much of anything when she waltzed into her apartment leaving Spencer to say goodnight from the other side of the threshold. She had assumed he would just follow her inside but was surprised and a little let down when he didn't.
"Thank you for today." She said, now realizing the night was officially over.
"My pleasure. " Spencer replied. He had taken her swift entry to her home as more of a quick exit from him.
"Goodnight, Spence."
"Goodnight, Winnie."
And with that lack of communication and awkward eye contact (or lack thereof), their night was over.
So three weeks went by business as usual, for Spencer Reid it was saving the word one serial killer at a time and for Winnipeg Thompson, it was saving the future generation, one student at a time.
Maybe there is more to their lives than this, maybe they would be able to find out if they would just talk to each other. Maybe they just need a little push.
And the endless possibilities of 'maybe' was exactly what Penelope Garcia specialized in, that and computer genius stuff.
