the room was dimly lit by the sunset shining through your thin curtains. there you lay on your bed while zach sat on the floor. you and zach have been best friends since elementary school, you've always felt something whenever you were around him. whenever that feeling came, you pushed it aside making sure you didn't ruin the friendship you had with him.

'zach, you've been staring at that wall for 15 minutes. you know you can talk to me' you sigh as the brown haired boy looked up at you

'i know y/n. hey we should go down to the beach' he states

'that's a little abrupt' you state, furrowing your eyebrows

'yeah sorry, just thought it'll calm me a lil' he replies

ever since you guys became friends, you always knew going to the beach was zach's way of relaxation. listening to the waves crash always had a calming effect on him. he got up from the floor and helped me off the bed. as we reached the bottom of the staircase, you see your mom look up from her phone.

'now where are you kiddos going now?' she asks

'we're gonna go to the beach, we'll be back in a couple hours' you respond

'well have fun you too, and don't get into any trouble' she smiles

'don't worry, I'll make sure she wont get into any trouble' zach smirks

'hey!' you reply smacking his arm

he laughs and runs out the door, you follow him out. after a couple miles the two of you arrive at the beach. you're surprised to see how empty the beach is, there's only a couple people walking up and down the shore. zach suddenly takes your hand and leads you to a place close to the water and sits down. you both sit there for a while just enjoying each other's presence. the sun slowly lowers leaving the sky a tint of blue, pink and purple. you admire the sunset, your eyes glisten in the light.

'beautiful isn't it?' zach asks as the two of you watch the sunset

'definitely' you reply

you turn towards him and catch him staring, he quickly turns his head clearly blushing hard. a small giggle spills from your mouth as he smiles like a dork.

'you're too cute' you smile as you look away

'not as cute as you' he replies a little too quickly

you look back at him as he does the same, a small silence falls between you too. suddenly, he grabs your fave and pulls you into a kiss. as you two pull away, you shoot him a cute little smile and wrap your arms around his neck.

'i can't tell you how long i've been wanting to do that' he smiles widely
'well I'm glad you did, you've kept me waiting herron' you chuckle

'so i'm guessing you like me too' he states

'took you long enough genius' you roll your eyes

'wow, i've never heard you use that much sarcasm in one sentence' zach mocks

you lightly hit his arm as you laugh, 'whatever dork'

'well in that case, will you be my girlfriend?' he asks

'yes of course' you smile

his arms wrap around your waist pulling your body into his lap, he hugs you tightly and kisses your temple.
