Chapter 16: Skype Warning

Bella POV

"You son of a bitches, I'd spin ya so fast it'd make that ugly little face of yers reject the female population. You little f-"

"Peter!" I snap throwing the door open and stride through.

Everyone moves aside as me and Jasper walk past everyone to the front of the room where Zylen, Zyanna, and Renesmee's faces show on the giant screen. Alec and Peter move aside; Peter sending the trio on the screen a death glare. I shake my head slightly and turn to Emmett with narrow eyes. He swallows visibly.

"You, I'm talking with later," I turn to Peter. "Same for you. I do not need a war starting right this minute." I snap.

I needed everyone I could get. Some of the guards had not come back yet from trips, and a few of the werewolves left to gather the rest of their pack that did not come the last time.

I turn to the screen with a blank expression. "What?" I snap.

Zylen gave a slow smile. He seemed to be the leader of the group. "Just wanted to thank you for the little visit you gave us earlier." He smirks.

I curse. Of course they heard us, so much for being quick and quite.

"Yes, I'm sure. It was a pleasure." I state dryly.

"Of course it is, mother. Your presence is always deathly." She smirks also. I scoff.

"To bad it wasn't enough to kill you." I state calmly; someone whistles behind me.

Renesmee looks taken aback, making her speechless. I can't help but smile smugly. Zyanna clears her throat. My eyes snap to hers.

"Can we just get to the point please?" She asks annoyed.

"Of course," Zylen says nodding and looks at me. "You've got 12 hours to give me-us-the thrones to the vampire kingdom. Or it's war."

"No." I say simply.

Zylen smirks. "I'll give you some time. Wouldn't want anything to happen to your loved ones, now do you?" He asks innocently, glancing at Jasper beside me. "Take this as a warning."

With that, he's signed off and the screen goes black.

I sigh and rub my fingers above my eyelids.

"Twelve hours! That-that's ridiculous!" Edward sputters.

Everyone turns toward Edward where he stands next to Alice and Carlisle, and look at him in surprise. Probably forgetting he was there. Hell, I forgot him and Alice were still here.

"It is." Alice nods in agreement.

Peter crosses his arms and nods. "I Hate to admit it, but 8-balls right. But Zylen's a moron and an idiot. Him and his sister have no brains, what-so-ever." He states.

"So, what are you going to do?" Edward asks. I look at him like he's stupid, Rose beats me to the point.

"Are you stupid?! We're fighting. Aren't we?" Rose asks looking at me, everyone looks at me.

I suddenly feel exposed. Suddenly realizing that everyone's depending on me. It never really hit me for some reason until now. Everyone believes in my decisions, that I'll lead them through this. That they look up at me as a leader, and will follow me through whatever.

I swallow and nod, struggling to hold a calm composure. Jasper gives me a worried glance at my drastic change in emotions.

"Of course. We stay to the plan and wait until everyone gets here. I'll make calls telling the others to hurry and when it's time, I give them my answer and we fight." I reply firmly.

I glance at Jasper before stepping away and through the crowd of people who start up conversations again. They move away letting me past, I hurry out the door and down the hall. This time, not dilly-dallying or stopping to look at a painting.

When I arrive at my room, I slam the door, surprised I didn't break it, and fall on to my bed. For the first time in a very long time, I question myself. Can I do what is needed to be done? What everyone is expecting me to do?

Renesmee POV

"To bad it wasn't enough to kill you." She states calmly; Peter whistles behind her and smirks.

I blink in surprise and don't speak. She's really serious about killing me? I-we-thought that since I'm still Bella's daughter that it would to hard for her to kill me. So I would have an advantage at killing her.

But what she just said then is making me feel slightly uneasy. Zylen and Zyanna are equally surprised but do a good job at not showing it. Anger flares up slightly in Zylen's eyes.

Zyanna clears her throat and all eyes snap to her.

"Can we just get to the point please?" She asks annoyed.

"Of course," Zylen says nodding and looks at Bella. "You've got 12 hours to give me-us-the thrones to the vampire kingdom. Or it's war."

"No." She says simply.

Zylen smirks. "I'll give you some time. Wouldn't want anything to happen to your loved ones, now do you?" He asks innocently, glancing at Jasper beside her. "Take this as a warning."

With that, he's signed off and the screen goes black. It's quiet for a moment before Zylen stands up roughly, making the chair go flying back. He growls in frustration.

He looks at me. "How can she not kill you? You're her daughter?!" He demands and starts pacing in front of us. Our eyes follow him back and forth.

I shake my head. "I doubt she'll be able to do it. She's a mastermind at coming up with lies and excuses." I say trying to calm him down. But it was true. I knew my mother better than anyone (except maybe Jasper).

Zylen pauses and glances at me. He searches my face for a moment before sighing.

"I guess you should be right. You were-are-her daughter. So then I guess that settles it. Better go round up the crowd." He says heading for the door.

"Wait," Zyanna frowns and he pauses. "why? She hasn't even told us her decision." Zyanna says. I do a mental face palm.

Zylen rolls his eyes. "It's obvious she's not going to hand over the kingdom. So what better way to get it then to kill her?" He smirks maliciously and walks out.

Zyanna frowns. I put my hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry Zya. Your just as naïve as my mother." I say and stand.

I'm out the door before she can process what I said. But when she does, I make a bolt for it.
