So go ahead and mock me
I dare you
I have been burnt to ashes before
You are not the first
You will not be the last
And even though I run from the past
Still I sing my song.
The fear still plagues me
A shadow follows me
The smoke of each past self
But if you think it hinders
These ghostly cinders
Then you are wrong.
The ashes of my past ignite me
Into a phoenix flight
Beautiful and free
