I look at my reflection
Distorted in the currents of time.
I am a leaf floating ever forward
Does my presence even matter in this vast ocean? For time is a river
And existence a sea
Where every ripple compounds
Where every action confounds
Where every thought comes unwound
Where reality is unbound
From the currents of time
You never will be free.I will drag down those you love
Leaving you to drift alone
Someday I will take you too.
The whitecaps of waves
Are my claws
I stalk you from birth
I take you at deathNo matter what
You'll never escape
The currents of time
And the ripples you leave on the surface
Of the universe.
