Sasori's POV

She stomped off ahead of me, obviously irritated. I smirked to myself as I followed her.

She eventually slowed down her pace and I caught up. "What's the hurry? It's not like the class is going to run away." I said. "I just didn't want to be next to you." she huffed. Typical woman.

We walked the rest of the way in silence, neither of us wanting to talk to each other. All was well until we heard a high pitched voice screaming-

"Sasori-kun!!" And all of a sudden a pink haired girl hurled herself at me, clinging to my arm in the process, causing a few books to slip a bit.

"Sasa-kunn" she purred, "I've missed you, I feel like you've been avoiding me." She pouted, sticking out her lower lip.

"Not now Sakura, I need to get to class," I said and yanked myself free.

"Class can wait, let's have some fun in the broom closet" she said flirtatiously and ended it with a wink.

Kagami turned around, rolled her eyes at us and pretended to gag. Wait, was she jealous?

A spark of inspiration hit me and I kissed Sakura full on on the lips, long and hard. Ugh she's wearing that cherry lip gloss again, it tastes disgusting.

Focus Sasori, focus. Head in the game. "Not right now, babe. Sometime later maybe?" I purred, channeling all the seductiveness I had in my entire being.

Cheeks red and steamy, looking up at me she said "I-uh-sure," She regained her composure a few seconds later and continued "Ditch the tramp and I'll be there." She said, almost too sweetly.

My head whipped over to Kagami immediately. Woah, she was mad.

Surprisingly, all she did was quirk an eyebrow and said "Some taste you got there Sasori, I thought you could do better than a pink-headed whore."

"Who you calling a whore, tramp?" Sakura retorted.

"Don't be so mean, Ka-ga-mi." I teased. "You're no fun!"

"Ugh just give me my books and go suck faces with pinky already." She reached for my portion of the books but I turned away.

"Now now Ka-ga-mi. No need to be feisty." I teased as I dodged her attempts to get her books back, Sakura giggling by my side.

"You're unbelievable." She spat and stomped off, not bothering to get her books back.

As I watched her leave, Sakura looked up at me, eyes brimming with hope and desperation. "Thanks for standing up for me, Sasa-kun" she said in her sickly sweet voice.

Checking that she was already out of hearing distance I said-

"It's nothing, it'd be nice if you'd stop talking to me from now on." I replied to her flatly.

"W-why?" She said, shocked- amazed even, that I said that.

"You're merely a puppet to me, do you understand that? I was using you." I barked. I'm not a patient man, I hate waiting.

"But that kiss!?" She exclaimed, trying to attract attention. And also apparently unconvinced at my first explanation. Doesn't she get the message already?

"I'm not a patient man, Sakura. Take the hint already, it meant nothing. Get over it."

"Monster." She managed to choke out, eyes getting wet.

"Maybe I am?" My expression unfazed.

I walked away, following Kagami's wake.

Maybe I was?

-

During class she sat as far away from Deidara and I as possible. Dei noticed but decided not to say anything, instead continued sketching. He knows me too well.

After class I tried to speak to her but she avoided me, forgetting that her textbooks were with me as well. How the hell am I supposed to return these? I thought, starting to get frustrated.

Okay, maybe I took it a little far with the kiss and the teasing, but is it really necessary to make a poor guy carry all your books around for you and forget to take them back? I think not!

I went off in search for her.

Kagami's POV

My mind raced as I relayed the events in my head again. From Deidara's warnings to meeting the Akatsuki to seeing Sasori kiss that girl.

They don't call him the puppet master for nothing, eh? Deidara's words rang in my head, bouncing from one end to another.

I hurriedly rushed over to registration and got my dorm key, shoving the thoughts to the back of my mind the best as I could until I reached my dorm.

-

I panted as I climbed up the stairs to the third floor of the girl's dorm, I'm not an athletic person. Fuck stairs, don't they have elevators in this place?

I reached the top step when oh god forbid, my books slipped. They tumbled down the steps and I had to gather them all back again. I groaned as I made my way down, bending over and picking up my books one by one. I stopped when I saw a pair of familiar brown eyes looking down at me.

"What do you want?" I shot at him. Not really in the mood for being teased.

"To return your books,"

"Great, leave them over there, thanks."

"Okay." He left the books on the top step and left, having the decency to not step on me on the way. How could I even think for a second that he would offer to help?

I reached for the next book I saw but to my surprise, all the others that had fallen down had already been stacked neatly into a pile in the corner. I put my books all together into one huge stack and made my way to my dorm.

Maybe he wasn't such a bad guy after all?
