Sasori's POV
I spooned ice cream into my mouth in a repetitive motion. Reminiscing about the past makes me feel old and depressed. I closed my email and shut down my laptop, depositing it into my bag once again.
Ice cream in hand, I made my way to the room Deidara and I converted into an art studio. I went over to my corner of the room, saw dust carpeting the floor. I sat down on my hardwood chair and started working on my latest addition to my collection- A ballerina. I already made the inner structure and carved out the body and limbs, all I needed now was to add and paint the head.
I started carving out the head from a stray piece of wood, looking into every single detail as I went. I gave her a small delicate nose, a pair of big round eyes and a pair of dainty little lips. After I finished carving, I set down my knife and proceeded on to painting. I picked up the smallest paintbrush I had and started. I painted her skin a white porcelain color, then I dabbed my paint brush into a light pastel pink color and brushed it across the ballerina's face, giving it the illusion of blushing cheeks. I painted her lips a slighter darker shade of pink than that of her cheeks. After that I filled in her eyes, a dark onyx color, contrasting with her pale skin. I stuck fine black thread to her head for hair and tied it up into a knot at the top of her head. Then I added her clothes, a satin tutu in a dark shade of scarlet that pops out against her skin. I never liked pink that much anyway.
Then comes my favorite part, adding the strings. The strings were the ones that controlled her every movement, they breathed life into her limbs and made her dance gracefully. Without the strings, she wouldn't be able to move. Without the strings, she wasn't alive.
I carefully attached the strings onto her wrists and ankles and tied the ends onto the wooden handle. Perfect I said as I made her do a pirouette and stand on her toes. I carried her to my room and gently placed her beside my other puppets. I had a whole side of the wall dedicated to them, half of it was supposed to be Deidara's but he blew up all of his sculptures. So more for me.
I stood back as I admired my work, all my puppets neatly displayed on the wall. Just then, the blond mongrel came stomping into the room. "DANNAAAA!! PEINS ON THE PHONE HE SAYS HE NEEDS TO TALK TO YOU, UN!" He hollered, even though I was 5 feet away and shoved his phone into my face.
"Yes?" I said into the phone, glaring at Deidara.
"Sasori we need you and Deidara's help. It's a mission, S rank." Pein said, sounding serious.
"What kind of help?"
"We need you to be the marker and Dei to be the distraction. We're breaking into Sea World, Kisame's idea he wants to see fishes but refuses to go during normal hours." I could practically sense Pein rolling his eyes when he said this. "So we're breaking in. Meeting at your dorm in 30 minutes, get ready."
Beep the call ended.
"What was that all about, un?" Deidara questioned.
"We're breaking into Sea World. Get the spray paint and the fire crackers ready, they'll be here in 30."
"WOOP! NEW MISSION, UN! What rank?" He asked excitedly.
"S" I smirked.
