Kagami's POV

I reached my dorm room at the end of the hall a few minutes later, desperately trying to keep all my books up. "Dorm 056" The registration lady said in her squeaky voice when she handed me the key.

I stood at the door and fished out my keys from my pocket. As I turned the key to unlock my dorm room, I heard the faint sound of music coming from inside.

I pushed open the door revealing a lounging Konan sprawled out on one of the couches reading a magazine and another girl sitting across from her in an armchair strumming her guitar and pouring over some sheet music.

"Hey Kagami, your room is over there." Konan said, lifting a perfectly manicured finger pointing towards my left. "Akira over here will be 'out of commission for sometime' so if you need anything I'll be next door. Ciao." She packed up her things, straightened out her clothes, gave a slight nod to my roommate and left. After she left, I carefully made my way to the room, being sure not to tip my books over and not to disturb my out of commission roommate.

I entered the room, and boy was it big. It had to be about double the size of my old one. It had warm cream colored walls, half of which were already covered in heavy metal band posters-probably my roommates, 2 beds, 2 desks and 2 closets all on opposite sides of the room.

My roommates side of the room was in a mess, her desk was strewn with sheet music and empty energy drink cans, by the looks of it she pulled an all-nighter. Her bed was unmade, with a single blue sock dangling from the bed frame and a patchwork bunny lay on the side of her pillow. Her closet lay half opened, showing me a wide selection of leather jackets and spiked leather boots. Yep, metal head indeed.

I set my books down on my desk, put on my headphones and started unpacking. I started with the necessities first- toiletries, then clothes, then my canvas and paint;books and CD's can come later. I was humming along to Chicago's Cell Block Tango, not the Glee rendition though, that one was just sad.

I was so engrossed in my unpacking, that I didn't even notice when my roommate opened the door, apparently she had just been standing in the doorway watching me unpack for about 15 minutes.

"Hey roomie, I'm Akira." She said when I finally looked up, it was then when I only got a good look at her. Dark red hair, brown wide framed glasses, pale skin and angled features; She wore a loose fitting black and red striped sweater, a pair of worn out jeans and some red converse.

"Hey, I'm Kagami."

"Yeah Konan told me, you're majoring in art right?"

"You got that right." I said, yanking a shirt out of my luggage. I really shouldn't have packed so fast.

"Here, let me help you," Akira said, skillfully taking everything out one by one and folding them neatly into a pile. "OOH what is this?" She said when she laid eyes on the screen of my phone that was resting beside me. "Cell Block Tango.. Not bad. But you know what's bad? The Glee cover."

"Finally, someone understands! Sugar's version of Lipchitz was just sad." I laughed, perking up my spirit a bit.

"Hey, I like you. After I finished my song for my class lets go down to Starbucks for a coffee or something." Akira suggested.

"Sure, I'd like that."

We continued unpacking in silence, me bobbing my head to my music and Akira snooping around my stuff. Well, not like I have anything to hide anyway. I finished up the unpacking because Akira left half way to complete her song. I decided to take off my headphones to listen to her strum instead, I couldn't quite make out her lyrics because she was practically mumbling the lyrics to herself but nonetheless the melody was soothing. I set up my easel in the corner and went into the living room.
