Siobhan strolled through the grand hallways of the castle, navigating her way to the library. The red notebook in her hand felt heavy as she clutched it to her waist to camouflage it against her red gown. She was particularly bored of being cooped up inside the bedroom and was hoping a change of scenery would be like a breath of fresh air.
The King was gone when she awoke earlier, the makeshift bed he had created on the couch was gone and looked as if no one had even slept there overnight. After the kiss they had shared that night he had set distance between them, offering to sleep on the couch to respect her space. At first she had refused, but he simply told her 'what man would I be if I were to allow my mate to sleep uncomfortably?'. To which she had blushed and stayed silent to.
The doors to the library appeared in her view as she turned the corner and she headed straight towards them. Until a blonde haired women stepped out in front of her.
"Vivian!" Siobhan exclaimed as she stepped back, moving her arms to behind her back to hide the book.
"Siobhan," Vivian cocked her head to the side, staring Siobhan up and down with a curious look.
Her eyes locked into Siobhan's neck.
"You have yet to be marked I see," she stated.
Siobhan frowned, "that is between King -my mate and I."
Vivian's eyes narrowed as Siobhan said the word 'mate'. She took a step forward, her arms over her chest.
"Hm," she said simply, "seems as if he doesn't want to claim you."
She stepped around Siobhan to walk away. Siobhan turned, following Vivian with her eyes as she stayed rooted to her spot.
"I can't really blame him though, if I were him I wouldn't mark you either," Vivian said over her shoulder nonchalantly.
Siobhan's band gripped onto the notebook behind her back, eyes eyes glaring at the back of Vivian's blonde head. Before she could stop herself, her anger slipped through her mouth.
"I would almost believe in your words of jealousy, except the kiss Lachlan and I shared last night told me otherwise," Siobhan said smugly.
Vivian froze mid-step at the end of the Hall. Her hand reached up on the wall, gripping onto its edge with her tight fingers. She took a deep breath in and sighed. Then, she turned her head around to send a death glare towards Siobhan.
"I didn't know you couldn't read. Perhaps that's why you're going to the library. Make sure you learn something, okay?" Vivian hissed out and disappeared around the corner.
Siobhan's nostrils flared in anger, but she didn't run after her. Instead, she pivoted her foot and stalked into the library.
The King is mine... Siobhan thought to herself. He was hers now. Only hers.
The library doors open, revealing the massive room to her. It wasn't empty of people, the thousands of books and expensive furniture the only things occupying the room itself. Each wall of the library was blocked by large bookshelf's that had been built into the wall from floor to ceiling. It was made of a dark wood, matching it's own wooden floor to blend in. Lovely beige and green couches sat around an empty, white marble fireplace. A colorful oriental rug hugged the floor under the couch and matching side chairs. The room seemed untouched yet it was spotless, for not a single layer of dust littered the room.
