the sunflowers,
they tie themselves
around my arm
in black ink
as a reminder
that i,
with the help of others,
have been able
to regrow
the garden
of eden
with my bare hands,
some seeds given
from those who love me,
water,
sunshine,
and time.

please,
take these seeds,
these seeds of my soul,
and plant them
in yours.
give them love.
follow
these instructions
that i have written
in my poems.

hopefully,
you too will
become a farmer.

read to your
plants
poems of your own
tongue.
maybe one day,
you too can give
your own seeds
to someone in need.

pay it foreword.

mother earth
loves all her children.
she will let you
borrow her soil,
water, and sunshine
to fix yourself
and the rest
of the world.

i'll leave you now,
to start your journey
of discovery
that starts with
just
one
tiny
sunflower
seed.
