Emily let out a breath when she felt that she was safe enough from Alice. Her leg was aching and she can see her ankle becoming swollen with bruises blue black. Sighing in relief that she only have a bit of injury, she walked slowly to a tree to rest for a moment not wanting to go home anytime sooner. Her eyes were heavy and her body was feeling lethargic. Gradually, her vision became blur until she heard someone shouting her name from afar. Unable to find her strength to open her eyes, she allowed the person to carry her without protesting.

The next thing she knew, Emily found out she was lying on a luxurious bed. The comfy bed makes it all the more for her to feel like sleeping on it forever. It makes her remember the days when she was in her own room, huge and rich, like this. The fire was burning in front of the bed to make the room become warmer. It feels so nice..

Her head was still a bit fuzzy but when her mind became more alert, she realized that she was in a stranger's house. Her eyes widen and she sat up on the bed to scan the room. It was already evening and no one was in the room beside her. She look at her ankle and realized it was being bandaged.

"Finally awake?" A man's husky voice was heard at the dark corner of the room. How she fail to realise that she did not know. Usually even though she didn't see anybody around her, she somehow can sense them near her. This resulted in her being a little surprised to find out there was someone with her in the room. As the man move closer to her, she discovered who it was, Darren.

She still cannot recall how she landed in this place. In his house."Why am I here?" She questioned looking rather lost.

"My friend, Heath, he found you lying unconsciously under a tree. He wanted to take you back to your own house and find a doctor to tend your wounds but unfortunately, when he arrived at your house.." Darren inhale some air before telling her what happen to her house. He knows she will not like to hear what he was about to say. "Your house was already burned to ashes." Her black eyes grew large with disbelief.

"You're lying. There's no way my house can get caught up with a fire." She stated still unconvinced with what Darren had just said. She hurriedly got up from the bed and staggered behind. Darren walked swiftly and held her arms to steady her but she yanked her arms away from him. " I want to go back to my house now."  She said while keeping a stiff upper lip. Darren was quite amazed to find that this little quiet woman that he was silently in love with do have some guts in her by commanding him to bring her back home. Him of all people. No one has ever done that to him as they feared him. Especially women. They would often cower and do not dare to say a word.

After mulling over the matter on whether or not he should let her see the prove, he finally gave in when he saw her unwavering determination. "As you wish." He said. "Landon." He called his butler knowing that he would be standing beside his door outside waiting for his master command.

The door instantly open and the butler came in. "What may I get you with sir?" He asked looking calm and composed as ever. "Tell Gerard to get me my carriage. I need to take miss Emily back to her already...burned house." Emily glowered at him when he said that but Darren just smirked at her. When both of they walked out of the house, Gerard was already waiting for them. Fast and efficient as always.

Later that day when they arrived at the place, Emily quickly open the carriage door to run to her house. Upon seeing the condition of her house right now, she had no choice but to believe him. Her house was completely consumed by the fire and nothing was left but ashes. All her memories together with Henry in the house just gone like that. There's no other things left for her to keep it as a memory about him.

Even her wedding ring with him that she kept it in the drawer is gone forever. She kneeled down in front of the burnt house while staring at it with a sad and dejected look. She wanted to cry but she stopped herself from doing it, because there is no point in doing it. It's not as if the house will be as it was before it was turned into ashes. There was not a single drop of tears from her obsidian eyes. She looked fine like nothing had happen but there is a hint of sadness showing in her. But as quickly as it appeared, it disappeared again and was masked with a face of nonchalance. And yet again Darren was astonished by her reaction but said nothing as he move closer to her. Hoping to give her his shoulder to lean on and cry but she just stayed there with no movement or what so ever.
