It wasn't long until Darren spotted Emily busy tending the flowers in his garden. It's been days she was seen there. Most of the time, Darren will usually see her there even without stepping into the garden by just looking at her from his study window. Even though the weather is freezing cold with snowflakes falling down the sky, she's still there. Now as he look through the glass window, he found out she seem oddly attracted to the daisies and he wonder why. There are like many and hundreds other beautiful other florets in his garden during any other seasons except winter, but she chose daisies even before the winter arrive.
When that particular flower blooms, she feels anything but unhappy. A glowing smile would carved itself on her face her eyes would say it all. Happiness and pride. Her smile was a total heart-stopping for Darren, it makes him all the more yearned for her but he was unable to touch her. He knew she would not follow him back if he says that she was to be his wife or even mistress. Money can't buy her love and he was really curious why can't he make her fall for him. He tried all kind of methods to give her hints that he like her but her th the hard walls surrounding her seem difficult to crumble. For instance, he would actually try to seduce her by standing near her. Caressing her and fanning some hot breath at her side but her face would look at him blankly.
Mostly, women would start to place their arms around him and let him carry on with all his seductions but Emily didn't. She would often move away saying she has other work to do and have no time for him. It irks him when she did that and make him feel frustrated. She seldom let her hair tumble down her waist and would often tied it into a bun when working. Yes, it's true that when you are working you should tie you hair but not all the time!
He never see her letting them down the moment she work for him. Never.
Sighing, he was going to sit on his chair when he saw her moving away from the garden. But not into his house, he can see she was moving to a different direction. Curiousity piqued him and he start to strode off from his room and out from his mansion.
Scanning out in the cold season, she seem to disappear too soon for him to catch up. Looking on the ground he saw some foot patches on the snow. He followed it slowly as there were several others foot trails by his other workers. She has a small feet judging by the size of the mark she left.
There were some turning that she made until he found her standing on a grave under a leafless tree. Her thick black cloak had done a great job in keeping her warm as he saw her neither shivering nor rubbing her arms. The grave she was standing beside it looks lonely and he never knew there exist a grave near his house. At a leisure pace, he moved towards her side. She didn't notice it until he start to open his mouth.
"Who is this?" He asked while studying the grave of the deceased man. This gave Emily a start and she look up at him.
"Just a dead man." She remarked looking rather confused as to why he knew she was here. She never told anyone about this place. It was well hidden from anyone's view. Unless...
"Of course I know he is dead, but who is Henry? Who is he to you?" He questioned after studying at the name that was carved on the stone and frowned at her.
"It is none of your concern, I am going back in if you think I was lazing around and not doing the chores. I was just resting for a while." She said trying to run away from the initial topic. She detested when someone followed her without her knowing it.
Emily was trying to get away from her when he quickly grabbed her arm. "I'm still going to ask you until you answer my question Emily. Who. is . Henry?" He is still pressing on that matter when she just want to ignore it, not wanting her secrets to be let out.
"He is no one to me. Now please sir let me go and do other things, please." She pleaded, not wanting him to keep on going about it.
Still, he didn't let her go and waiting for her answer. " Tell me Emily. Or I'll still get the answer by asking the captain to help me get the job done, one way or another." He stated looking hard at her.
