"What are you doing with him?" His grey eyes smoldering while boring down at her. It was a rather awkward position for Emily. His hands were gripping her arms behind the door not letting her go anywhere. Emily struggled to move away but it was proven pointless. Darren's grip grew even tighter when she moved slightly.

"Let me go! I've already done all the chores just now and I was there only to inquire the ways to take care a plant only!" She snapped back at him. "Why are being so unreasonable here?!" For the longest time, he remained still with only Emily heavy breathing as she tried to free herself just now. His eyes slowly soften.

"That was all? Only that?" He asked in a soft tone. He doesn't seem to be angry anymore but look more like he was asking her in a pleading way. Like a puppy begging for food from its owner. Emily was still angry by the way he reacted to her. Why is he angry? She hasn't even done anything wrong but merely talking to the gardener only.

"Yes!" She bit back and yanked her hands away from his when she felt like his grip wasn't as tight as before. "Now if you'll excuse me as I have other work to do." Her tone was biting with cool anger in her. She opened the door to let herself out and left him standing there looking dumbfounded.

When he reached his garden just before he gotten into his house, he saw the two of them talking to each other. They look happy together like they knew each other for a long time. Even though Ackerley isn't a handsome man but he is a very kind person. He is willing to give out his knowledge about plants without hesitating. And this make Darren felt agitated because he knows Emily doesn't like a person because of their looks or money, but because of their kindness. He remembered what she told him that night. How she doesn't care about the person's rank as long as they are good. There is no way he is going to lose to some low class people in getting her love. He is willing to go all out just to gain her attention and affection.

Now he regretted what he did just now and all he can do now is wait for her to calm down before he can see her again and apologised to her. It's better to let her try to forget about this incident.

He was going to get out from the room when Mr Hastings appeared. "Sir, Captain Sunderland is here to see you again." Only when his butler mentioned the arrival of his friend, it then strucked him that he had something that he wanted his friend to do the moment he sent Emily to his house.

"Let him in, I have some urgent matter that I need to discuss with him." Darren stated while moving to his chair.

The moment Heath came in, he smirked at Darren. "My, my why in the world is the lady that you love doing all the maid's work? Why isn't she your wife yet? But never mind that, I'm glad she's fine." He said it in a sacarstic tone.

"Enough with the talk, have you done what I ask you to do when you sent Emily to my home?" Darren asked looking rather annoyed with his friend attitude. He sat cross legged on the opulent chair and waited for his friend reply.

"Indeed I did, my men did ask around the town folks if they knew who did the arson. One of them knew who she was, it's a woman working in a brothel. Her name is Alice." Heath said. He seem to be trying his hardest to think whether he met this woman or not.

The instant Darren heard the woman's name uttered by the captain, he couldn't help but to curse under his breath. "I knew it."

"You knew? How come I've never come across this woman before? As far as I know, whatever ladies you've come to encounter I will surely know." Heath's brow began to crease.

"I met her in the Lorelei, but I never bring her back into my house until she did a self invitation to my house one day. Quite a daredevil she is I have to admit." He remarked looking rather disgusted with this woman he just mentioned. "She'll be back for more I believed. Since she hadn't get to taste her sweet revenge yet the moment I kick her out of my house."
