Chapter thirty eight
Stage three : Indecision and Secrecy
CaliforniaTroy's P.O.V
" And good morning to you too Nante did you sleep well?" I cheered.
" Oh shut up you drunken tree" she snapped at me frozen in fright as I recorded her.
" Dude get up and stop thinking about her there's a flood coming" blabbered Dave.
" I can't beside I already packed for the flood" I told him checking out more of the videos in the camera to have it snatched away from me.
" Hey"
" You'll have it back when you forget about her" uttered Dave. " Give it back" the punk ran out of the room then vanished in the halls. Whatever!
I got back on the bed when Xander walked in the room. Feeling low I needed to feel high. " Xander hook me up" I commanded handing him the fifty dollar note.
" Sad about Lil mama dumping you ?"
" Just give me the pills" I snapped snatching the sachet away from him popping them at once.
" Careful now don't you to overdose at least not while I'm still here" he warned.
" Why the hell did you come to restaurant"
" We're really doing this what else my money"
" I told you I was going to pay you !"
" When ?"
" Soon"
" Quit lying fool if it weren't for the girl you would have bolted beside this isn't about me it's you lying to her what you're not thanks for paying on time this round " he blabbered.
strolling out of the room. Not heeding to his warning I popped the pills one more time then laid down on the bed again shifting my backpack to make it comfortable to rest on.
My ears pricked at the clap of thunder above us. I hadn't realised it but the room was pitch black my hand groped for my backpack in the dark.
Once I felt the fabric of the bag my other hand rummaged for a flashlight which shone into the room. The bright light was cast at the pool of water that stained the floorboards.
" It's time to move up" the patron hollered outside the hall. With my backpack I dodged the few still running to the storage room then moved to the stairs cluttered with people holding suitcases and backpacks.
Amongst the clutter I spotted Dave one of the last. " Dave my camera" I hissed.
He bashed into the person's back that cast a dark look over her shoulder to him while I smirked.
" Sorry"
" My camera"
" No" That word!" Ugh fine can you at least shot this " I asked. " You want me to record us struggling to survive a flood ?"
" Yeah "
" Awesome" he cheered " Hello" he greeted the girls above him that glared at the both of us. At the first landing I guided him on shooting those below us who flipped the both of us off and called us 'Fucking retards who deserve to go to hell'.
" Holy shit" somebody yelled from above us as the rain barged into the hall and the wind howled with the cry of glass that rained too.
" Sir I'm going to need you to put away the camera" frowned the matron. Dave turned off the camera and hid it from the matron that kept her glare on us until the we got moving on the staircase again.
A blood curdling scream took us by surprise it was traced back to below where something in the space glistened.
Water!
" Move already" I got shoved then stuck thanks to the idiots haste manner. " Nice going" I remarked to get shoved.
With a little rain water to lubricate us we freed ourselves then continued the slow ascend to the door.
Echoes of feet against the steps were replaced with murmurs and shouts, I took a seat at the last landing of the staircase.
" They claim it's the wind holding the door shut " Dave said. " So we're stuck here ? " He shrugged taking a sit on the steps like most of us here. Some kids were on the last floor.
" Can I have a look of what you shot ?" I asked he allowed keeping an eye on me. " I'm watching you" he warned I finally got the videocam and begun to watch the footage of us scrambling to get out.
" It's great " I told him who grinned when the wind barged in with rain on the side I hardly noticed the object that plummeted into the water below. Without wasting time I got on my two feet scrambled then climbed up to the door fighting against the wind before I was finally outside.
Outside the torrential rainfall was unwelcome throwing a number of us around on the roof top.
Eventually the rain ceased and we could all stand still and just wait for help.
I was looking around for Nante except I couldn't find her. Taking a break at the wall I was greeted by some company.
" Thought you'd need some company" She suggested " Thanks Racheal" I replied wearing a small smile due to her grin. " Did you come alone ?" She asked.
" Yeah"
" I guess it has it's advantages"
" Yeah"
" You don't seem much of a talker" she answered there I laughed. " What's on your mind besides this whole flood thing" she asked.
" Nothing much just kind of had a break up" I replied. " Why don't you tell me about it ?" She asked.
Before I had a chance to do anything the helicopters arrived.
" Do you have your phone ?" She asked she gave me her phone number then a kiss on the cheek before running off to the crowd at the helicopter that first landed.
There was no shoving or foul play however people still struggled to get to both of the helicopters first.
My focus was on the helicopter door once it opened I bolted in the helicopter one of the last to get in only to sigh and led a mother with a toddler on her hip in to the helicopter to take my place.
" Thank you " she appreciated while I got out and stood with the rest on the rooftop.

" You'll be sleeping here" the brother ushered us to the worship room filled with rolled up sleeping bags and a few individuals of all ages.
I shrugged rolling out my sleeping bag getting the power nap I solely deserved. By three " Dave the video" I told him who tossed the videocam to me then I uploaded it on you tube.
Not more than half an hour I got three hundred views and a recommended video that I stared at due to the preteen with brown hair and a bored look I can spot from anywhere.
Nante!
